Sigh. Instead of bashing you (which I'm sure someone else will do anyway) I'll try to help. 1) No. Elysium staff won't change the email associated with your game account. This is to prevent the account being stolen by someone and then them changing it so you cannot reclaim it. 2) This is not the correct method to contact Elysium staff. Raise a ticket in game instead of posting here. 3) If you are concerned about the security of your email address and receiving spam, don't put the email address in a public forum for everyone to see. Especially this one which is frequently visited by gold spammers, who are well known for stealing game accounts.

Gotta love these posts. If you are going make such claims at least include a copy of your ban appeal and response from the admins. Nobody is going to give you much attention without that.
-
Normally admins have a way to identify you are who you say you are. You'd have to call the company, give them your name, address, DOB, answer security questions etc before they would remove 2FA. This process exists to protect your account, without it anyone could contact the admins and ask them to remove 2FA making it pointless. The problem here is the admins have no personal information about you, they cannot verify you are the account owner. This and they are generally busy/lazy with this kind of thing anyway. Many people on here praise 2FA, but it's very risky in my opinion. I'd rather put my faith in a unique email / username / password My advice to you would be to log a ticket in game now whilst you still have access. The fact that you are currently logged in with 2FA enabled at least proves you can currently access the account. Maybe that will be enough for them to help you, posting here however proves nothing.

Unless I am mistaken, your account is lost. Admins won't help you. This is the risk you run with 2FA and why I don't use it.
-
Sigh, so many of these. Admins will do nothing to help you here. 1) Change your password 2) Enable 2FA from control panel so you can't be hacked again 3) Start over

Just search for the client using any popular torrent site. That's what I did. You want client version 1.12.1

Make a grey (tagged by other player) immune to polymorph.

It already is extremely powerful for misuse, that's the problem. This change means people can misuse it to help though, instead of being a di*k. -
Admins will NEVER remove 2FA from an account. You have no way to prove you are the geniune owner of that account since the only thing you registered here with was an email address.
-
Cannot currrently be done, this is a defence against people changing the email address on stolen accounts. If you are concerned for the security of your account, change your password and enable 2FA from the control panel. (once the current email woes are fixed)

I myself had this problem until just last night. The vanilla version of healbot is not nearly as good as it is in retail. Get yourself lunaunitframes, you can target players in that by binding a button to "target" (note the small t) You can also do all the customising. bind spells, monitor buffs etc. It'll do everything you need. By far the best healing addon for vanilla.

Its out of hand. How about just stopping the health from resetting? -
I'm not following? what good would that do?

You do make a valid point but I think that scenario is very unlikley and even if it does occur rarely, much less hassle than it currently is for the dev team trying to deal with all the current spam/hacking issues. I am only throwing out ideas here you understand, it sickens me that people have volunteered their time and hard work to a volunteer project like this, that is free for all to enjoy only to have it targeted by gold sellers, who spam and steal accounts and generally make the place unpleasent. You can't expect human policing of issues like this on a volunteer service because that is just too time time consuming, an automated solution is the best we are going to get. At least this way it puts players in charge of that system and gives us some say about who should be punished by it. However maybe you are right and that isn't a good idea.
-
If someone does something in world chat that draws the irritated ire of some 20-or-so people do they not deserve the punishment anyway? They should not be putting whatever it was that upset so many people in a public channel anyway. It not just stops spam but encourages responsible behaviour in public channels. If anything your argument seems to support my idea (in my opinion anyway) I appreciate that's not what you intended.

Not a bad idea Roxanne, however some players (myself included) don't bother using the ignore function. For 2 reasons: 1) Anyone spamming won't normally be doing it for long on that character. A few days and they'll normally create a new character/account to annoy people with. 2) The ignore list has a limited amount of people you can add to it, eventually it gets full (probably of people who are no longer using that character) The ignore feature is good against genuine players who annoy you, but not great against spammers. Just my opinion obviously :)
-
You read my whole post right? My idea means a number of players would have to report anyone before any action was taken. Probably a large number of players, how could this be abused?

Alert players of chat ban/mute resistrictions

A reasonable request, however making this information public would also make the system pointless as they'd be telling gold spammers how to circumvent it. For example: Gold spammers already now spam every 1 minute and 10 seconds or so to avoid this. I don't think any automated system will really discourage or stop them spamming, only human intervention. Which is sadly very time consuming and unrealistic for a volunteer project like this. -
Whilst you are at it, it would also be nice if the skinning icon was not shown for mobs that have not been looted yet. Many thanks Devs for your work :)

You guys could try whitelisting the elysium email address (the address the email comes from) Sometimes the email provider blocks Elysium emails thinking they are spam. It could of course turn out to be the Elysium email server is down or under DDoS or something in which case there is nothing you can do but wait until they fix it :/

As the subject says, why not make 2FA mandatory? So everyone who plays on Elysium must use it. Personally I’m not a fan of it myself and find it inconvenient, however there are many here who praise it and it would make policing of the servers much easier: If you catch anyone gold spamming, buying gold, exploiting you can be certain the person who owns the account is the guilty party and perm ban them right off the bat. No investigation required. They have no comeback, they can’t use the “my account was hacked” excuse anymore. You know you are banning only the guilty, and it’ll no doubt save admins a ton of time. The guilty know they can’t get away with anything anymore. Committing ban-able offences is now stupid. We'll probably see a drop in ‘server crime’. I can think of 2 drawbacks to making 2FA mandatory. 1) A small percentage of players won’t have a smart phone of other device that they can use. I doubt this is many people and they can always use bluestacks or something as a work-around. 2) Admins will get emails from dumb people claiming their dog ate their phone or other silly excuses for locking themselves out of their account, in which case just ignore them. It’s the users responsibility to manage their own email / login details etc. I guess there must be a reason it’s not mandatory already. There so many people on the forums claiming they’ve been hacked or banned when they have done nothing wrong though. This seems like a no brainer.

Problem is many players already created their accounts using non yahoo/Gmail accounts and those email addresses now have huge delays receiving emails from the current Elysium email address. Sometimes emails never arrive at all. Currently Elysium provide no way to change the email address on your account, so if you already have an account linked to one of these addresses your pretty screwed. Hence why I said in my OP I find 2FA inconvenient. This is fixable though.
-
Good point. Admins would need to invest in some reliable email systems obvsiouly. This is up to them to fix, not you.
-
Strange. I can confirm it's nothing server related as I play with my wife on Elysium and we don't have any problems. Same setup as you, 2 machines on the same LAN. If both machines are connected directly to the router, this shouldn't be a problem. Edit: Try updating your firmware. Could help. http://www.belkin.com/uk/support-article?articleNum=157352

Sadly the Dev team have already stated that they will not restore any lost/stolen gold or items. All you can do is start over. Also find out how you were hacked. Have you used your username and password combination on other servers elsewhere? Do you have anti-virus / anti-malware software installed? Have you run a scan to check for keyloggers recently? Be sure to find out how or you risk being hacked again.

One person using an addon and not being banned is not proof it's safe to use. Also what truth are you referring too? Anyonw else been using CT_Mailmod safely for a while? as it is an addon I would like to use myself. Sending items one at a time is annoying af.
