Don't mention THAT server - Auto Mute
Loftus replied to Loftus's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Characters below 10 cannot whisper other players. They can however speak in general and /say. When you are muted, you cannot speak at all except in party and perhaps guild, though I was not in a guild when this problem occurred. -

Thanks for clarifying Shenna. Must have been a really weird coincidence then. Glad the muting problem is fixed, it was definitely difficult to play muted. -
That is the only realm at this time. Based on the announcement on Elysium website, they are planning on opening another which will merge the old servers into one. Nighthaven is your only option right now.

In game, just click on the ? mark down in the bottom bar. Click on the button for ingame issues a GM can help with. I selected environmental from the menu following. You can submit an in game ticket from there. The GM was very quick to unmute me after I submitted (thanks again). Good luck. -
Hello fellow Elysium players! DO NOT TYPE THE NAME OF THE "OTHER SEVER" (LH) or you may be muted on all characters. I wanted to relay my experience today in hopes that it will help other veteran players from any of the Elysium servers. Today on opening day of Nighthaven, I was playing my new little druid. I mentioned that my main was on that OTHER server (as she cannot play here currently). Immediately after that I was muted and I could not speak in general, whisper or even /say. This had never happened to me before so I posted on the game issues forum. A GM was kind enough to respond quickly and the problem was resolved, but not before I spent about an hour trying to figure out what was going on. I saw another player ask in general if anyone had characters on that OTHER server. I immediately whispered him that the server name could not be mentioned. I explained what had happened. When he did not respond, I instructed him that an IN GAME TICKET must be submitted and then he would be unmuted. After about five minutes, he whispered me and confirmed that he too had been immediately muted. Based on the speed of the mute action, it appears there may be an automated process that immediately mutes any account (not just the character in question) when that name is mentioned. I'm trying to save others the hassle of being muted by making this post. I'm not making waves - I've already applied for a character transfer and hope I can play my fairly geared main on some Elysium server in the future. After all, I've spent 10 months playing here. I would like to add I have a great deal of empathy for the Elysium staff about what happened. However, for some of us, the forum posts were confusing and unclear. We were instructed to go to that "other" server on the Elysium forums. We did not want to transfer our characters completely off of Elysium, but for lack of better information, that is what many did. That does not mean we are jumping ship. The automatic muting of any account holder who even mentions the word could be a bit extreme, but that's just my two cents worth. Happy gaming all. Just don't mention that other server. Loftus

Thanks! The ticket worked. It appears that the action might have been taken because I mentioned Lights Hope. My apologies if so. It's sad it's come to this. Hopefully my toons will be transferred soon. Lofty

OK, submitted a ticket. Hope this can be resolved. Not much point in playing this if I cannot communicate with anyone at all. Sort of defeats the whole MMO aspect of the game.

Hello, My druid Loftus is level 5 on the Nighthaven server. I cannot communicate with anyone. I cannot speak in general or when I /say. I cannot whisper anyone. I cannot figure out what the problem is. Right before this problem occurred, I mentioned in general chat that my main, a priest, is over on Light's Hope. If this silencing is due to that comment, let me just clarify. I would like to have my level 60 priest on Elysium servers. I have applied for a transfer. However, there is no way currently to play her on this server (or any other Elysium hosted server). Please let me know what I can do to resolve this issue. Thank you, Loftus PS: I created a new character and I have the same issue on that toon. I've never encountered this problem before when playing WOW.

Update: Now using Express VNP. Latency issues resolved. Connected through France. Cost some money, but worth it until they resolve the problem. Side note: Running two computers using same VPN subscription.

Texas Uverse. Technician came to the house and found no issues (of course). Filed a ticket with AT&T technical support, but they have no idea what is wrong. Their guess is that it's the return packet trip FROM Elysium that is causing the latency. Bottom line, not alot luck working directly with AT&T.

Just tried to raid BWL and it was a disaster. Any word on a fix for this? Perhaps I should change internet providers?
-
Texas here again. Want to confirm it was OK from about 7 am to 10 am central which seems to agree with other experiences. Then performance degraded.
-
Texas here with AT&T U-verse. Same issues described here. Problem started Friday afternoon and has persisted until this morning. We have AT&T coming out tomorrow to test our connection and hopefully diagnose the issue. Seems as if we are all in the same boat.

Having lag issues for a day and a half now. AT&T also.
