In Pottu's post he stated things need to be kept blizzlike and I know cross realm BG's weren't a thing until possibly the end of vanilla/earlyBC. If this timeline is truly an issue then forgo the suggestion but I see zero downside to mixing the realms for BG's. Faster que's, more diverse opponents, etc. Also, I have zero knowledge as to how much work would go into implementing a system such as this so if this suggestion is too much, I apologize.
