Well, I enjoy fishing too, just not for hours. And I fished for quite a while and went from relaxed to bored and annoyed before I thought that I could use a fishing bot to fish for me while I watched some TV. In the same way you cannot understand why would anyone want to automate something tedious I cannot understand how you do not find fishing tedious ( in game, not in real life... I must admit that in real life fishing is great ) . I found an awesome one that would cast fishing, move the cursor around until the icon changed and listen for the fish sound. But for some reason the cursor would not move, so I gave up... for a while. I was tired and I got fed up and found another bot that claimed to hook into the WoW process directly and listen for the event itself instead of the sound. The author claimed there was nothing to detect so I tried it. The very second after I started the bot, BAM, instant permanent ban! No warning, no nothing. I know ignorance is no excuse, but still, this seems a bit harsh to me.

I do not know what Owned Core is, nor do I care enough to find out. But I don't understand what you have against bot enthusiasts. As a programmer I can tell you that writing your own program, testing it and improving it is one of the most relaxing and fulfilling things you can do. However I find the cycle of pressing a button, waiting for a sound to play and clicking the floater quite tedious after 10 minutes of doing it non-stop ( good thing the bait does not last longer ) and I cannot imagine someone doing it for hours. But then again, I never tried doing it with rum and radio. Try it with a strong drink and tell me if it's even better. Or is rum considered a strong drink in the land where flavored water is sold as beer?

Also, why would it matter if I reached max fishing level with a bot instead of manually? What difference would it make? Does the bot make me rich or give me an unfair advantage over other players? Can I even get rich with fishing considering that fish sells for one copper and my bags are quite limited?

You do not seem to be part of the staff and, if you are, you should consider saying that somewhere on your profile. So if you could source your answer it would be great, if not I am afraid I have to ignore it.

Also man, don't try doing something challenging or you might start to find repetitive tasks ( like fishing in this game ) tedious.

Have a good day, and enjoy your hours of non-stop fishing you human embodiment of a bot.
