  1. Lol, posting the same thing three times? Is that a forum error or human error?

Lol what? They won't do anything, that's all I said. That's a fact. It's unfortunate for me that they won't. I understand why they won't, but they still won't. Your interpretive skills are suspect man.

Can you show me where I said or even implied that my account hacking was Elysium's fault? I never said that. This is what people on my other thread did too. You can't handle an argument with nuance, so you allege that I'm making a stupid argument that I never actually made because it's easier to prove the dumb argument wrong than it is to actually formulate a response that addresses what I said. To me, neither myself nor Elysium is to blame here. Again, I didn't sign up for 2fa, but I had very good reasons to think I didn't need it. I don't blame myself or Elysium, I blame the hacker for fuck's sake. Why would you assume otherwise? It's like you're just looking for disagreement where none exists.

I think using the phrase "your fault" is inaccurate though. Like I pointed out in my thread, if your house gets robbed, it's not like it's your fault because you don't have armed guards. Saying it is the player's fault because they didn't sign up for 2fa is kind of a strange way to apply blame here. I have a secure password on my account and I've never bought gold or given my password out to anyone. I'm also an IT consultant and travel every week for work, so my IP address changes multiple times a week. To not have to deal with the pain of the additional login step for 2fa each time my IP change, I never signed up for it. I had no reason to think my pw could have been taken (I still have no idea how someone got it). In a quite formal sense, I had no need for 2fa on my dumb little WoW account unless my account password was somehow obtained through another site's data breach or if Elysium got hacked. In my situation then, it makes no sense to me when you say that it's my fault I got hacked. How is it my fault when I had no role in causing it? Every god damn thing can be improved with hindsight. It didn't mean every person who performs a suboptimal is at fault for everything not optimal that happens to them. You either have a very poorly thought out definition of blame and fault or you're infallible in every way and have never encountered failure. My money is on the former.

Damn, can't believe all the pointless vitriol in this thread/community. "Ohhhh some guy got his account hacked!? I know, I'll hop on the thread and call him names and tell him that had he been as smart as I am, he would have not been hacked! Boy it feels good to make fun of people who have something crappy happen to them!" Seriously though, I had the same thing happen to me, it sucks but there's nothing the Elysium folks will do. My post didn't even say anything negative about the devs or demand they fix it like yours did, and people still flipped their shit because they found an example of someone not signing up for 2fa as quickly as they did.
  6. Yeah but it took me a while to amass all those shitty BoP blues ;) Would have been nice to vendor them myself and keep the money.
  7. I'm just defending myself from you at this point. I think it sucks that they won't restore my account, but I don't think it's unfair. I literally said that I understand that they won't recover anything. I can't understand why you think I disagree about that. I know it's very convenient to tear down the shitty argument you've attributed to me, but it's not one I ever made. Reading what I wrote would help clarify that for you maybe. Can you tell me where I said "not my fault so I deserve reimbursement"? I never said that, so it's unclear why you quoted me. I've literally never said any of their policies were unfair either. Holy shit people. Again, it's like you people need to misinterpret things so that you can disagree with someone. The only thing I've disagreed with was everyone's interpretation of how I feel about getting hacked and what my expectations were. All of which were made up by people who commented. I genuinely hope none of you have professions in which you have to interpret nuanced information.
  8. Holy shit, when was I complaining about this? It's like you desperately need to have an unreasonable straw man to argue with.
  9. I heard on reddit (not most reliable source, I know) that there was a hack recently and users account data was leaked. If that's wrong, it didn't change the fact that I did nothing wrong and thus, it's crazy that I have to defend myself from you people. I've never done anything of the things you listed for obvious reasons. That's why I was surprised when I found out my account was hacked. Jesus, it's crazy how quickly everyone jumped to be critical of me when I've done nothing wrong and just asked a simple question.
  10. Can you please point out where I demanded anything? I asked if it was possible. Also, how is you posting snarky put downs implying I'm negligent not starting an argument yourself? Did you just ignore what you have written previously? Holy effing shit though, what a toxic community. I had something unfortunate happen to me, made no demands and only posed an honest question about whether there is anything the GMs can do. All I got for responses was people attacking me. You all make putdown posts on a message board for a free version of retro World of Warcraft, attacking someone you don't know because your account is more secure and you need to feel good about yourselves. The world laughs at you.
  11. I didn't have 2fa before, but I have a secure password. What other services are offered other than 2fa? ... And no if you get robbed and your door left open, it's not your fault. Nice try with continuing the metaphor though. You sound like an unreasonable 1950s dad, acting like a contrarian just for the sake of it. Surely you realize how preposterous it sounds when you say that if your account info gets stolen because Elysium was hacked, it's always your fault unless you have 2fa, right? I can completely understand if they won't recover anything, but I think you're just trying to look like some brochill hardass who is above the fray here. You just sound like someone who is being intentionally apathetic and looking for arguments on the internet.
  12. Isn't this a lot like saying if your home gets robbed while you're in it, it's your fault because you didn't have armed guards?
  13. ...but this isn't my fault. Elysium got hacked and that's why someone else has my password. Is there nothing Elysium devs can do?
  14. Is there anything a GM/dev can do about this? Someone hacked my account and now none of my items are present on my character! Can my character be restored at all?
