If you're a mage you can just farm DM East. You get a fair bit of money plus free dreamfoil/gromsblood/ghost mush, leaving you only having to buy the vials/icecaps

I'd assume most would recommend Shaman, although Priests are one of the most efficient levelers. With Shaman you can level as Enhance for the windfury that everyone knows and loves, and I believe you could also heal while leveling without spec'ing into resto.
