Hello guys,
as the title suggests I am new to WoW. I have played 2 Weeks of the paid trial time in 2005? 2006ish. I am not particulary new to mmorpgs but I aint the jack of trades either. I've played Ragnarok and Dungeons and Dragons Online so far.
I am a level 10 Night Elf Hunter and I have been struggling to get there. I ain't sure if or what I am doing wrong. So I have several questions about the Hunter Class, the UI, addons, casting spells and whatnot. Someone giving me directions and showing me the ropes would be nice.
Assaid I am a lvl 10 night elf hunter. I am using ShaguUI, EQL3 and Questie so far. I tried the Fubar Addons but this pretty much overburdened me, because I dont know what the hell most of the addons are doing and I have been struggling to find explanations or descriptions for them. Which also brings me to my first few questions:
The ShaguUI is nice and all but if I put spells on the default bar and switch from ranged to close because an enemy gets close the default binded 1,2,3,4.. and so forth become invisible and obviously switch to a new bar. I figured out thats when you get into close combat, which btw isn't happening on a gnome warlock I am playing but whatevs. I also figured out to put close combat skills in this 'autoswitching' bar while being in close combat. Which is a minor problem because I could always fight a low lvl enemy and arrange my skills while in combat.
Is there any workaround to that? Are there any better UIs for the hunter class? What addons should I definetly get and why?
K next thing. I always feel like I am one or two levels behind especially doing quests in caves. I am soloing most of the time. My gear feels like it's low level altough I always equip the 'best' things I get from quests. Grinding for a level didnt really seem to do the trick because ~1% of xp per kill isnt really satisifing considering the amount of time spent killing a mob and waiting to be full on health again, questing seems the way to go. I also seem to die quite often.
Is this normal in WoW Vanilla? Any directions for a complete hunter guide? Sequence of casting spells? When to get out of combat and just run? Should I buy potions in the ah?! Since Questie suggests a level for most of the quests should I be ahead of it or is on par okay?
Last but not least I have been trying to tame an owl. I know it needs meat and I have fed it like 20 jerkys and its still at level 1 of loyality and rebellious. I've put it in the stables for now so it doesnt run away like the last one. What the heck am I supposed to do? Or what am I doing wrong? How much meat to I need to feed it?
