From what I understand (and what I'm going for on my shaman once he's leveled) as ele/resto you can stack spell penetration and use downranked lightning spells until you get focused casting, then unload a full powered lightning bolt/chain lightning for free. Damage is spikey and generally sub-par, but you can do some decent AoE damage and keep your mana pool relatively high while also providing buffs and emergency off heals. Penetration gear is also pretty trash for other classes because of warlock curses, so you'll usually have a good chance to get it on the cheap or not have to compete for it. You're gonna look like a clown, you'll be sub optimal dps most of the time, and people might mock you, but you'll find mana easier to manage and be a decent addition to most 5 man groups if they let you do your thing. Good luck finding a pve group that'll let you play ele though, raiding will be difficult to justify without mana tide. :p

I feel like the mobs in the starting areas hit a lot harder on Rebirth than Elysium, but I'm not sure, is there any truth to that, because the rebirth coding seems pretty damn good from my experience with it.

I wouldn't be so upset about the downtime if I didn't love playing this game so much. Thanks to all the staff for bringing this classic game back so that both those who never got the chance to play it in its prime and those who want to re-experience the game they fell in love with can have a place to enjoy it. You're doing good work here, don't let the drama drag you down. Most of us are here for the game and the community, not to judge your character and pull the server apart from the inside. Thank you for letting us have this, and keep up the good work.

So be careful when you use it, mobs don't seem to move away from you in one direction anymore, instead, they'll zigzag all over the place with no rhyme or reason like they should, sometimes they'll leave their aggro range and leash back to their spawn with full health, too. Pulled more than a few packs by accident today thinking I knew which direction they would go. Just giving the heads up.

Zeth is going down now, I don't know about the others. Hopefully it's a five minute fix.

The repeated and almost instant DCs are scaring me, it's like fighting someone for control of my account, and I don't want to send too many log requests.
