Charge-backs: How it happens and whose fault is it? Most credit card companies allow a set amount of time after making a purchase to "Decline" said purchase. (Usually 120 days) Once the buyer contacts the credit card company he will explain that once of several issues have happened. In this case most likely "Services not rendered" The CC company sends notice to the Merchant services company that handles the account for the business who in turn contacts the business. The business has X amount of day to either A) Refund the money or B) dispute the charge-back, sending proof that the transaction was legitimate. The Merchant services company then reviews the information with the CC company and make a final decision. If the business wins, they keep the money, if they lose, it is removed from their account. Example A Bob goes to a shop, buys a new pair of boots, signs his CC slip or enters his PIN number and goes home. A month later Bob decides that he is not happy with the boots. He calls the store and the store declines to do anything. He get angry and calls the CC company. The chain of events happen and the shoe store sends in his signed cc receipt. They deny the charge-back because Bob clearly knew he was purchasing shoes. Example B Letspwnthisish - Level 60 mage donates 500.00 towards a server cost. 2 months later Mr. Letspwnthisish gets angry because his guild awards SuperUberWand to another guildie. This is the breaking point for Mr. Letspwnthisish, who has farmed this OMGWTFBBQ raid for infinity years. He contacts a GM who after investigating decides Mr. Letspwnthisish has 0 rights to SuperUberWand because he entered the instance knowing the guild rules and loot policy. Mr. Letspwnthisish can't stop there because he has been wronged. Like OMG NO MOAR DOTS wronged, so he remembers the 500.00 that he donated towards the server. He calls his CC company and say "I have donated money towards a computer service that is not allowing me to receive what I think a donation of that amount should receive and i do not believe they have rendered me the services that I paid for because I was forced to play on another server. Once again the CC chain starts but this time the Business who received the money (not a shoe store) only has the donation paperwork. They cannot prove that Mr Letspwnthisish did or did not receive what he paid for, so the CC company sides with Mr. Letspwnthisish. The money is then taken from the business account and the server, who now is in arrears, shuts service off until payment is made. Nothing that Business A or B could do about the situation. Meanwhile Mr. Letspwnthisish sits on Discord and his level 11 toon in main cities on the other servers flaming the Company for being bad. Until someone decided to Dox him and Onyxia found out where he lived and Roasted his nuts (Peanuts of course) while listening to willy nelson and starting a new gnome mage that can't jump. *Drops Mic and Walks off

It is DDoS attacks. They cause the server to not be able to respond to Ack/Syn requests because it is flooded which your computer interprets as a problem on your end. Nothing they can do about it. Impossible to stop.

Same. Pulled fist boss in Deadmines and got DC and can't connect to Darrowshire. Confirmed all other realms working. Reset Client and deleted wdb, interface, and wtf, restarted pc. Still connect issue. Seems to be server side.
