Dear Elysium, staff members and players alike.
This past week has been turbulent as most of us know, the question now should be focused on how to go forward, not on who to lay the blame.
Nostalrius passed the torch of vanilla on to Elysium, and to Elysium only.
It's in these times we need to start acting like a team, since we all have a common goal of taking the legacy of vanilla WoW forward.
Two things I believe are true, the past cannot be altered and both sides of an argument usually has a point.
Truth, trust and transparency should be held high; as should the work, sweat and tears of the people who makes this project exist in the first place.
Some people are starting drama only to boost their own egos and channels, yes it's true, but at the same time there is usually no smoke without a fire. I believe Elysium should have made sure to extinguish that fire before it even started.
That said, what we need now is a Rebirth.
A Rebirth from a staff point of view, as well as the community.
The staff needs a major and clean reorganization with the main focus of clarity, contact and transparency with the rest of us, the community.
The community needs to stick together, support and give clear constructive criticism to the staff. Praise should of course be given for well executed endeavors, but at the same time, pure fanboys of either side usually don't produce anything valuable.
Also, yes, I used the word Rebirth for a reason.
In one month, the old vanilla private server The Rebirth will release it's code and databases to the public since they are shutting down after many years of service.
This server has been a great one, I myself have leveled a 60, doing up to AQ40 on the server and I felt it was solid. If devs and other staff members are leaving because of this recent turbulence, I believe that the release of this data is something you should seriously look into and use.
Rebuild the core, rebuild the staff, rebuild the community and let The Rebirth help you.
Sincerely
