This is a really hard bug to explain but there are recent issues with sound as of this Saturday 2/25.
It is only noticeable when using headphones and enabling sound at character. Using speaks this bug does not reproduce. This is not an issue with audio drivers or headphones I've repro'd on different PCs and with different headphones. Casting a spell like aspect of the hawk has inconsistent volume levels when spamming cast.
Autoshot is hardly audible. Other effects as well are inconsistent, at it seems like some "sound at camera" affects bleed into sound at character maybe?
When using sound at character, panning camera angle now affects ambient sound effects (like burning buildings in Stratholme) and volume of other effects. This option is specifically meant to create a consistent sound environment which isn't happening.
I'm not really sure what the issue is but sound effects are drastically inconsistent in volume and overall much quieter.
I am a DJ and maybe these issues are especially noticeable to me, but they are quite bad sound issues and I would love them to be resolved as it's a huge break in gameplay immersion.
