as said you cannot sweep things below the rug that is just ignorant and something only a sheep with no tought or will of its own would. you mention the devs thinking for themselves right ? why do you think they left... why did the ones remaining only lash at the community claiming to be a victim rather than think up solutions for what they had brought upon ? please start to use that head of yours... since when was Elysium the world ? since when where they anyones boss ? they host a server and with it comes responsibility of doing so if they cannot then that is all there was to it and they need to improve themselves if sheep just tell them dont worry then nothing happens and things worsen... start giving some facts & reasons for your words or are you just here for the attention ? -
Investigation ? first of all i have seen no result of any of your investigation and players dug up the dirt on the corrupt GM for you which you to this day still have given no solution to... And after your core leaks you claim it was planned long ago and only that coincidentally no damage is done... convinient... You could have taken the servers offline, cloned the disc with logs on and ran a 7 layer scan on the log disc to recover old logs that where deleted to revert some damage however nothing was done yet you still flaunt player numer which is easily faked and accounts can be made in thousands without restriction. you are also trying to make the 190k sound better then they are however truth is you say "player" not "account" thus if a player has 5 characters then its 5 players to the count per account, they could easily have more characters or more accounts with more characters and most could long have stopped but let us then compare 190k versus how many are online when you read this ? not even 5% if not far less than that. please stop trying to make things sound better and just be honest for once...

True however considering the servers age and that the code was inherited and then over hyped i see what they do as something that the server had due a long time ago. I had however hoped that they would handle it maturely by having the leader stand out instead of hide then call it an "investigation/spy" then below the table pay the goldsellers a sum or make an arrangement so they raise prices for a couple months then say you caught most of them however make certain you use vpn and fake id's in contact so they cannot use what you said against them and when the agreed time is up backstab them not giving them a cent and double efforts to watch out for them then and there as that is when they will angrily strike and you can catch most. That way you would have cleaned the servers name and made it a positive instead of negative and the logs could be recovered with a 7 layer scan to really catch some of them. Once dirt is collected you cannot cry but dirt is needed as a temporary sponge to then discard later and that is the sad truth. The server is young and inexperienced they bit off more than they could chew and now they need to sustain the shitstorm they conjured by not countering but hiding and asking for pity, they have closed and filtered many posts but that will only prolong the strom proving inexperience and players will during it test other servers and if elysium does not learn and grab the ship steering it right within the next months it will start taking water in which will cause it to sink in 1-2 years if they keep shoveling out water neglecting or filtering instead of solving it. No worries that i never will or have done but i feel like setting a sheep straigth when it displays clear incompetence and rather than stating facts relies on saying the community is a problem or those who question are cattle and the rest should follow blindly otherwise they are no better than that cattle... -

you realize the reason cattle can be raised so easily is due to lack of intelligence and it never rebels once placed in a cage ? not to question and blindly follow would be more accurate i think you should try learning a bit about the world as you appear to think of caddle as intelligent being able to "question".... also what authority do you speak of ? this is no more than a private server, a poor one who inherited their code they did not really do much themselves aside from advertise... you need a life good sir but first some common knowledge ;) -

calling the community the problem is wrong as without the server would not exist, you cannot blame others for distrust towards something that has just been proven corrupt since that would really be a problem and fuel no-good or are you claiming the server can do no bad and deserves 100% blind trust even after corruption was found, they crumbled and have no solution to solving what occured along with a hasty recruitment of randoms seeming more desperate ? -

It is great to see some who see what is happening here, i can almost guarantee someone will call this fella a spy or troll but fact is shit was burning and the team collapsed and lead refused to answer due to emotions as we confirmed by listening to the teams meeting that was leaked shortly afterwards. You need to question Elysium, yourself & your friends if you stay and you should not forget the past but try to move on from it if you decide you are OK with all that occured or what the future will bring for a server that lived a couple months and already had corruption & disbandment occur. population is one thing but it is not permanent as players move around all the time new ones start old ones stop and there is plenty of 1.12.1 servers around. -
nobody knows and if you speculate nothing says that they could not be the same just with different names either at least until community does a long search based on IP and more to dig up their past or current actions, the server is not gonna die from it at worst it turns into something like ED which is a living corpse but it is playable but besides Elysium there are 2 other projects that have sustained the trial of time, one of which has been proven hack-proof a couple times in comparison tests while elysium only reached 90% due to not being immune to minor speed hacks like 5-7% bonus or floating but i am not naming these servers as i am not here to advertise. their population is clearly less than Elysium as well perhaps only half although that is still more than 2-3 times the cap the old blizzard servers had and considered decent/good you need to ask yourself do you want ultra high pop or high pop or maybe medium pop equal to the old servers population ? They handled this case poorly and thus it created doubt which does not simply dissipate but might grow like the snowball effect. Many projects can be judged by their website investment, some make armory's and wowhead imitations or even their own log system while others stick to simple forum's. Elysium is good at advertising i will give them that much but that is more or less all the credit i can give them as the server ? that is simply something they inherited and did not share with others however they rush released before the larger known bugs & exploits had been solved and they messed up when 1 gm was found to be corrupt which could have been solved easily had they not been too emotional and asking for pity after only a few months...

The first half is as true as it gets and the last part as well that you should not judge alone by past but also what is to come, you ask yourself and compatriots can you trust in a server who had corruption exposed and where the ship was almost abandoned and the lead refused to give out a message for days ? Ask yourself and your team this a few times since if any doubt in the matter remains then the doubt will spread from you to others and only take away the wind in your sails. You can try out 2-3 servers or look them up just to be certain where you stand is not only due to population but your own will as private servers are time investments not money and as thus you are not bound however a come back even after a blunder like this is not impossible but due to the poor way it was handled it could have created a snowball effect of small doubt that will escalate over time -
What happened ? step by step

That is partially true is yes they closed due to it but there was a bit more to it than that as blizzard was just the final nail, Elysium could in fact have ignored it due to www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/48/section/50A & www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1999/2083/regulation/5/made. You might argue that these are UK laws and Nostalrius was located in France however if you lookup the rules in france they are almost identical to these although the wording is slightly different in favor to the consumer so Nost had the opportunity to ignore blizzards first message if they had sent one more it would be more reasonable as that would signal blizzard being ready to pay to take them down rather than bluff them down. They closed due to blizzards mail however the server had internal issues originating from the release as they had no logs and duping existed the first 7 weeks making some people extremely wealthy and untraceable similar to the ppl who had contact to the Elysium corrupt GM who deleted logs which he should not have been granted access to in the first place. So yes Elysium is inexperience but who can blame that ? they hardly just began the sad part is they had a leader unfamiliar with online politics... yes it sounds big but it basically means controlling the flow and remaining neutral while you manipulate others a skill required commonly by community managers which he did not have however they had a great advertiser as the population reflects but as stated earlier if corruption is dug up by community and not handled by the core or team then it will breed doubt something which could have been killed off with under the table shady deals like pay the gold sellers to temp set up their prices extremely and then claim that the corrupt GM was either a spy to catch a lot of gold sellers and their network or you could claim you took a 7 layer scan of the log disc and found the old logs he deleted and reversed his actions. However as they where inexperienced or unproffesional they took the childish defensive stance asking for pity and giving in to emotion while the lead locked himself away for a few days due to emotions which is wrong by no means do not misunderstand but fact is fact and the project is young and they commited the same mistakes Nostalrius did thus the economy is in tatters and there are multiple gold seller banks stored on multiple accounts like they usually do with their web but to preserve the server they will not set down prices right away as that would only make the gold they have less worth and risk the servers extinction before they have earned enough from it. Yes what i said where harsh words but i also gave them some decent credit here and there especially for advertisement problem is they bit of more than they could chew and swallowed rather than tasting thus consuming corruption which does not always end with the seedling being removed and they will not die either at least not right away and only 5-10% know of it but slowly more and more will learn of it and the snowball began the moment the team failed at catching it before it began rolling creating what we know as "doubt" but who know how large that needs to grow before it becomes lethal or even harmful... Say what you want but fact is you are part of that handful and the reason is you care similar to others which is why people use forums, sadly some try to be attention whoring telling others they are wrong or that they should not use forums like you but bottom line is you come here to learn/read/communicate and get some attention by telling the flow its wrong. -
Is there a limit on how many abs can be on server at the same time?
mr. knowitall replied to szuszak's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I do not know if elysium has a custom cap but to my knowledge you could have infinite battlegrounds if you had the server capacity and playerbase for it but realistically speaking i think you will see between 3-12 at best during peak hours on most servers depending on their population. -
Yes & No but let me explain why i am saying both. There are 2 methods of which you can prevent it being that the server creates an API that addon makers such as i would be able to use to auto-delete mails while hiding their existence from you all along but that will not occur for the three below mentioned reasons. Aside from all that you could make an API from what exists to simply "hide" the bad mails based on an algorithm that only friend/guild listed may appear on it or that certain words however it has a downside by simply stacking up then depending on what the server set as maximum for mails strsseing the server more for each one using it and when you finally reach the cap you will suddenly not recieve your mails and nothing can be seen as the goldseller ones are hidden. Oh and one last method exists by having the server itself filter mails based on certain content but that could backfire removing mails with content due to it having words listed in the custom filter but seing how they still have yet to do so for their own website heck they had not even reserved the name "elysium" for usernames... i doubt they have enough resource to do so for in-game mail content. in conclusion "no" would be the best answer i can give you unless you either make the addon that slowly stockpiles by hiding stuff or hope they make an API to control mails at the risk of some scam addons being made. Keep in mind goldsellers change their wording and sentences all the time to avoid as much filter as they can. "Yes" would be a maybe as it depends on the future and if they can recruit enough but there is still too much else with higher priority.
