competition vs unplayability. Didn't say it was an issue for me, i did what i always do and went elsewhere to level, but many new to server who see that will leave. I already ran into players on two other pservers who told me that they wanted to play here, but left because the extreme high pop made questing ridiculous.

Starting at level 1 and spending an hour to complete the first quest because nobody joins group and there are 50 players in northshire abbey alone questing indicates that another realm is needed, and although I agree with the OP that a PvE server might be desirable - it is true that the majority of pserver players prefer pvp servers, that said I'd be happy to see a twin to Nighthaven, run on the exact same timeline, with limited time free xfers between the two, and the official from-the-start statement that if populations drop below a certain level, the realms will be merged back together - which should happen regardless when TBC server launches. There's my two cents on the server issue :)

Why don't we go ahead and ask Gummy over here to work on ElysiumTBC, that way we get that custom tbc core he built from the ground up(You know, the one that's super stable and bug free and got a cease and desist from blizzard literally the day it launched?)

I liked VanillaGaming's solution to this. The player vote shop has a gold reward(it isn't much really, 10g for 3 votes, 20 for 6 or 100 for 9 with it being 12h per 3 votes, that may be a little much for here but this is about concept, not details). Once this was implemented gold sellers dried up, I still see the occasional one over there, but its become quite rare. Also has the added side-benefit of free advertising for the server.

Truewow is running 3.35 client but progressive from vanilla through LK. But it does require either a lot of effort to copy player data, or the use of a later client to make things smoother if you want multi-expansion progression like that.

Or the intellectual capability to listen to people on the servers and read the forums.

I think you'll find that the majority who went to Ely/ZK did so for the fresh start, not the pvp.

I think the title is self-explanatory, but a brief aside to explain reasoning: There are 3 PvP servers, 1 PvE. Our 1 PvE server(Darrowshire) lost players to the two new pvp servers, but then a bunch of these guys quit instead of returning to darrowshire when they decided they didnt care for the pvp aspect. I would suggest, as a very one-time-only deal that IF Zeth'kur is turned PvE, players there receive an option to one-time only transfer ALL of their characters to elysium. Failing this, another PvE server on a similar timeline with Elysium/Zeth'kur might be another option.
