If you use it effectively on tanks then every renew gives you an extra 2.5 seconds for regen that you otherwise would have had to spend on a cast.
-
I did this for my last MC raid and it was about 20% of my healing (distant second after flash) with far less overhealing than any of my other spells. Definitely one of my more efficient heals. The thing with renew is that it's context dependent. You don't throw it on people arbitrarily after they take damage. But if you know when and how to use it, it's an invaluable tool.

Gender Roles/Stereotyping in WoW (help me out for my essay!!!)
Jcus replied to CherriCake's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Kek * If you would create a healing character, would you rather pick a female instead of a male and why? Depends on my mood. * Does your behavior or way of talking change when you play a female character? Even if this is just a slight change. I act flirty and make lots of winky faces so people give me free shit and go out of their way to help me. Guys are such simple creatures. * Do you have a certain view on how women in-game behave differently compared to men? How? They're usually (not always) below average players who can't pull their own weight, and serve as token females. However, hearing a female voice in discord is a boost to morale and keeps the guys on their best behaviour. Also they don't seem to like PVP very much. * When interacting with a female in game, does your behavior towards that player change in comparison to playing with another male player? I usually do a /flex to assert my dominance, and then follower her around helping her kill mobs because I'm a nice guy like that. I give them things I don't really need like potions and scrolls, and In groups, whenever a girl fucks up I'll usually take the blame in hopes that she might become my girlfriend. -
This. Respeccing every weekend isn't even a consideration for most people. If the cost were lower that would change.

As far as lowering respec costs goes, what are the arguments against it? Why should it be so expensive to respec? How does that benefit anyone?
-
Which is why we're all here instead of retail... People, please stop suggesting they make the game more casual friendly. That's precisely what killed WoW.
-
There most certainly were organized ranking groups in vanilla retail with honor caps etc.

It is actually very close to the blizzard experience as I remember it. Frustrations and all. The abundance of non-English speaking players (mostly Chinese). I can't count the number of BG's that have been ruined by people who don't speak English and therefore are impossible to communicate with. This is especially bad when there are a bunch of them in the same BG, so all you see in bg chat is lines of blank space. They also tend to go AFK a lot, especially while solo defending flags, often leading to losses. People do report them but I see the same repeat offenders every week, and nothing ever seems to improve. AV aside, world PvP seems to be extremely unbalanced in favour of Horde, and I suspect this is because alliance queues are instant whereas Horde honor grinders have a good 20-60 minutes to between queues. So this leaves us with a scenario where all the top horde PvPers are out in the world ganking questers and people running to instances, usually unopposed save for the odd MC raid. I'm not sure what a good solution to this problem would be. Maybe an artificial wait time for alliance queues based on horde queue times, but that wouldn't be blizzlike. Also, rep gear. I assume this will be coming in the AV patch though. I'd like to see the ability to queue for multiple battlegrounds at once, which was allowed back in vanilla. During the first 4-5 days of every week, alliance premades are running non-stop, so as horde you typically wait in AB queue for x minutes (because WSG queues are unbearable), get stomped, collect your token and repeat. You might get a pug here and there, but it's barely worth trying unless you're a hardcore grinder and it's your only option. Being able to multi-queue would be a partial solution to this problem, encouraging people to play more than just AB. I know it would also make win trading easier, but that's a lesser evil as far as I'm concerned.

The devs aren't going to go around arbitrarily adjusting game mechanics in an ill-fated attempt to balance vanilla WoW...

I accidentally selected the melee neck instead of the caster ring for the stratholme quest Aurius' Reckoning. Is it possible to exchange the neck for the ring?
-
While I personally leave grays alone, some people take pleasure in being dickheads. It's part of the game.

What's the profit of rolling on a PvP server and then whining on forums when you get PvP'd? This happens to everyone, horde and alliance. Suck it up.
-
What did you do to piss him off so much is my question.
-
No, I didn't play on Nost. I played vanilla 11 years ago, and it was not worse than this at all.
-
I've seen it work in practice. I'm not saying an enhancement shaman is as good or better than elemental, but they're far from useless. Warriors can't really shield wall burst or stance dance fear either (they'll be dead before they can equip a shield/change stances, and berserker rage has a longish CD). And you should only need one mortal strike in a battle since you should be focus targeting.
-
Not true. Their burst damage along with WF and mortal strike is almost impossible to heal through. Taking down a healer right off the bat (or even a warrior) is a winning strategy.
-
Vanilla WoW allowed multiple queueing which was the only thing that made faction imbalances tolerable. Win trading is by far the lesser evil here. Not allowing multiple queues is un-blizzlike.

It's not a pure PvP build but it works http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#bxzGshbZbEtIM0V

Thanks, this is extremely useful. A question though - how come neither of your lists include the Crown of the Ogre King?
-
No offense but it doesn't sound like you've done much PVPing as a healer. If you're facing semi-competent opponents, most of your time will be spent simply trying to keep yourself alive, as you're usually the first focus target. Hiding in a bush or behind a hill only works against pugs (sometimes). 5/5 spell warding and 2/2 imp mana burn are mandatory (if you're not healing/dispelling you should be draining their healer's mana). Blessed recovery is useful because it's almost always going to be triggered in battle. Even if the ticks are small, you end up with an extra few hundred HP. Divine spirit is dubious, as battles usually don't last long enough to justify the small increase in mana regen.

I once played on a private server where you could get unlimited premade 60s with epic gear. I lost interest in about a week.

So, let's talk about the population diminishing
Jcus replied to AzAMOuS's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
Elysium's population has been stable since I started playing about a month ago, and it's still way too overpopulated. Sounds like more baseless drama. -
You might get more sympathy from the tumblr community

Training Costs and other issues
Jcus replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I haven't really noticed much of a difference. As a priest I've been training all my skills and got my mount as soon as I hit 40 without much of an effort. Most of my gold comes from quests, AHing greens, and vendoring garbage. Broken bows and sticky spider goo adds up over time. I also made some decent money with alchemy, but I haven't focused much on my professions yet. I've never had to farm for money, and I would recommend against that on such an overpopulated server because all the best spots and spawn timers are probably being camped.
