I am looking to start a full and HEAVY rp guild on one of the elysium project servers alliance side. For years I ran an all RP guild on a RP/PVP sever and the only complaint I had was why I didn't do it back in classic, so here is my chance! I was automatically put on Zeth'Kur when I first started here but soon found out it is a low pop server, and I didn't see or find much in the way of RP. After chatting to several people about my idea their advice was go to a different server, or not to even bother with my idea. Well, I am still going to try and make my "all RP guild" a reality, I just need to figure out which server to go to. Elysium has the largest population, but I was told Darrowshire has the most active RP ally side. So I will be putting this post in both Elysium and Darrowshire forums in the guild corner, and the RP section to see which one has the most interest in my idea of an all RP guild alliance side. Who would be interested in having an ALL RP guild here alliance side?? Would anyone be interested in joining such a guild? The guild's theme would be an independent but supportive order of the alliance. Not under the alliance rule, but helping out when and where we can but focusing more on matters that directly effect the guild and its members. ((Heavy RP, and All RP does not mean we wouldn't do other things like pve, or pvp. It only means that the main focus of the guild would be RP, and we would take as much of what we were doing in the game in character as we could. )) Leave a comment or just fill out the poll to help us make a more informed decision! thank you all!!

Registration for the Tournament Of Kins is now open!! The rest of this month there will be open registration to enter into the Tournament of Kins! This is a combat tournament and will test each participant against other competitors. Hosted by <The Kinship> anyone is able to register to be considered a combatant. Speak with any Kinship member (ICly) and RP your way into the combat! Each participant will be asked to fill out an Entry Form (You must fill this out! You can RP getting one from a member of the kinship by contacting one of us in game, or you can take a form that is ICly attached to the advertising flyer) Each participant will be using the simple turn by turn roll style combat system the Kinship uses in our RPs (( Guide to The Kinship's combat system )) No level, class, or race restrictions! Open event to any who wishes to join! Spectators are welcome (So long as no one is disrupting the actual tournament, please RSVP if you plan to attend and watch by letting Rasmira or Novurix know via whisper, or in game mail.) Entries must be done by July 31st to participate. ***This will be an RP combat tournament (So your level, gear, etc is not taken into consideration, and everyone who participates will have a fair shot at the 20g prize.)*** The Last man or woman standing will be rewarded with 20 gold (actual in-game currency) and given the title of Champion Of The Kin (Sadly I can't make it an actual title, it's more of just an RP thing) Please see the official rules of the tournament, and tournament information to decide if you have the heart to be a champion! Several precursor events will take place between now and the tournament (Each event will be posted on the forums with their date/time) Open registration (Till July 31st) 2-3 conditioning events hosted at the tournament grounds ( Where everyone can practice, spar as well as learn and practice using the combat system that will be used. As well as ask any questions about the system so during the tournament it will not be held up by having to teach or explain the system. Social RP is encouraged at these events) Spectators will be welcome. IC interviews with each competitor which will then be published in a small article prior to the tournament (which will be posted in this section of the forums) Pre-Tournament celebration (Social RP gathering for all competitors and spectators prior to the tournament ) IC Information: A flyer once again can be found posted in various cities and towns of Azeroth, the bold yet elegant script very legible reads: Enter into the tournament of Kins! This tournament calls for only the boldest, craftiest, most cunning and powerful men and woman of Azeroth. Defeat your opponents, climb the tournament ladder, and find yourself victorious! The overall winner will be presented 20 gold, as well as hold the title of Champion! What calls you to the Tournament grounds? The battle? The Gold? The Glory? Whatever it is that calls you, call on the Kinship and enter into the Tournament of Kins today! Under the flyers is a small stack of bound together Entry Forms , so anyone interested could easily take one to fill out and put in the mail, or personally deliver to a member of The Kinship. ((Follow the link and either signup/login with the website to post on the forum topic, or just copy and paste the info and send it as a forum message here, or in game mail)) An elegant and finely penned out sketch of the blue recluse is on the bottom of the page, clear this is where you should start. Everyone's entry is done at their own free will and they understand all risks involved. Date and time of the event are still being determined, it will likely be sometime mid-August (possibly the 19th). A neatly scripted flyer can be seen hanging near other advertisements for The Tournament Of Kins, It reads as follows: Event: 1st Tournament Conditioning Time: 10pm (server time) Date: July 29th Where: Tournament Grounds (Training ring in Theramore behind the tavern, and across from the keep) All combatants are encouraged to prepare and practice for the main event! The training grounds will be open July 29th at 10 bells for the first conditioning event. Come hone your skill, and size up your opponent! Or just watch and have a social time with others who have gathered. (( Please take some time and go over the Combat system we will be using so you are familiar with it. At the event's start, there will be a demonstration of the system with a spar between two people already familiar with the system, and a chance for everyone to ask any questions they have before everyone can begin ICly practicing for the tournament with each other. If you can't make this event do not worry there will be several conditioning events designed to lead up to the tournament and get everyone used to the system between now and then. I am also available in game for private spars/ to explain how the system for those who can't make the conditioning events or are eager to learn.)) I just wanted to add that I spoke with Nik about this and I THINK the event will be Sunday, July 8th. but don't take my word for it please get in contact with them to ensure its the proper date! ((sorry if I am wrong!!))

I read this post and see that it is now in the TOU that it "disallows any large-scale, organized collaboration between opposite factions on all of our servers" I understand what it means and agree with it in most cases like the ones listed for using cross collaboration to hold a world boss or something. I am a role player and have a RP guild on Darrowshire alliance side. Would cross-faction RP fall under that category so long as no groups involved (horde or alliance) attempt to hold, or are actively holding a monopoly on world boss spawns or any other PVE content? Surprisingly I've had a lot of interest with cross-faction RP or if I will allow Horde to join in events I run alliance side. So just want to check to make sure that doesn't count as Cross Faction Collaboration .

AAAHHHHH! I love this, I did an event like this with Kinship (on retail) where the guild went to each faction leader for approval/support. I would be happy to help any way I can... but...erm.... what day? unless I missed it all I see is the time, not a date, I hope I didn't miss it!

That is up to Nikaela , I know it isn't the same tavern night <Solstice> would run. Someone else just wanted to bring back a tavern night. She picked Sunday at 2 am server time but I am unsure if that is going to be a set event that will be every Sunday at 2 am server time or not. I was told it was kinda a trial run thing and she would see how the turn out was, and go from there but from what I heard it was a lot of fun so I'd Message her to find out, but if I find out sooner I'll let you know!

OOC: Date: Monday, July 3rd Time: 10 pm server time Where: at the midsummer bonfire in elywnn forest (right across from the lion's pride inn) Directions at event start: please whisper rasmira for raid/party invite, or ask ICly or OOCly in chat for an invite. Raid/party chat will be OOC. THE FIRE RITUAL This will be the kinship's first RP event we host for the public and it will be hosted once a month. The Fire Ritual is a serious, symbolic RP event where characters will have a chance to metaphorically let go of something from their past that they feel is holding them back, or negatively affecting them in some way. This is not a cure all and is only metaphorical and symbolic. Everyone will be allowed to come up to the flames (Called one at a time by Rasmira so it is done orderly and there are not multiple people trying to talk over each other), and explain what it is they want to let go of (a person, a thing, a feeling or emotion, a memory, etc) They can then toss an item into the fire to burn, symbolically getting rid of the negative association and allowing the person to move forward in life without being held back. only those who WANT to go up will go up, people are welcome to just come watch, and listen. If you plan on going up please make sure you have the following ready. -what you want to leave in the past (It can be an item that is representative or symbolic of it or, if it's a thought, feeling or emotion, you are welcome to RP having it written on a piece of parchment and tossing that into the fire.) -if you wish to speak about it, make sure you have the idea thought out. Remember, this is a serious and symbolic RP event and is to be treated as such. Please be respectful of your fellow RPers and bystanders. Depending on how many people attend the event it is estimated to take about 30 minutes to an hour to complete. Could be more or less depending on how many show up, and how in depth it gets. Greetings again to all the RPers! I have heard many times since I joined that there is all this "talk" of RP, but no action. So this is just a small notice that soon (date and time are TBD) <The Kinship> will be hosting three events that will be open to the public. They are all still in the planning stages but I wanted everyone to know they have some things to look forward too. The Ritual Of Fire: This is a symbolic RP event that will be hosted monthly, allowing characters to step up to the flames and let go of the past, and "from the ashes move forward". The Tournament of Kin's: (Yeah a lil cheesy play on words but I like a lil whimsey!) this is an RP combat tournament that will utilize the kinship's combat roll system, the same system we will use during our RP combat encounters during guild plots and story lines. There will be a gold prize to the overall victor. This event will take much more time and planning than the previously mentioned events so be patient! This will also have several smaller mini-events that will take place as well, such as registering for the tournament on your character, being assigned a number etc. Tournament Conditioning: This is an event that will be a precursor to the actual Tournament Of Kin's that will give everyone interested in participating a chance to RP practicing for the event, as well as a chance OOC to experience and learn how the combat system works. This way we do not run into the issue of someone not understanding something and having to pause the whole event or slow it down to explain. I hope everyone will enjoy the events and once I get a set date and time for each I will be posting more detailed information on the forums, the discord channel, and on the guild website (In a section viewable by non-guild members). Does anyone know if it is possible to change it so the chat box will display the channel name, instead of just the number? with pfui disabled [2.trade] [toonname]: WTB stuff. now with it on [2] [toonanme] WTB stuff I checked in the settings for chat but saw nothing to indicate showing or hiding the channel name. Is there a way to change this, or another addon I can have with it that will display the full channel name? thanks

haha well, that might be a cool idea for a horde guild but i finally choose Darrowshire for my guild, which is alliance. However, tauren are tied for my fav horde race, So I understand your desire for supremacy and you have my full support! :)

I was hopeing to find an add on that would show a character's guild name in the tool tip when I mouse over them(not target, just mouse over). I tried tinytip, shagu tooltip and show guild. tinytip and shagu tooltip would not work when I had OwlRSP running, and showguild would only display the guild name if I targeted the character. Was wondering if anyone knows an addon that will add guild name to character tooltips that may work with OwlRSP. thanks!

AH HA!! I found one that works. AF_Tooltip will work with OwlRSP and display character's guild name on the tooltip.

I just did, and sadly, same thing. It works great when I dont have OwlRSP enabled. Soon as i turn it on though, it doesnt work.

I know this is an older post but bare with me....I have started an RP guild (The Kinship) and have been reaching out in game, on forums, and discord to try to also get interest and bring a bigger spark to RP and recruit for my guild. my plan is for guild wide events, plots, and story lines that go beyond just a single weekly event that will give more opportunity for people to do character development and be involved in RP. I ran a heavy RP guild on retail for a few years and decided to reboot it on darrowshire. So I too am looking for people with interest in RP. I offer an IC membership with my guild so people already in progressive raiding guilds or other guilds can also be a member but remain in their guild and have the same opportunity for RP. This is a small workshop I will be hosting that anyone is welcome to join. If you have 0 RP experience, or are a hard core RPer. I will be covering the bare basics of RP such as character creation/development, emoting, Do's and Dont's, Terminology, bringing game content IC and having a Q&A at the end. After a long standing issue with my guild charter I finally managed to get my guild created here! and with that I have started recruiting as well as planning story lines, and plots for when I get more members. I have also been working on RP events that the whole community can participate in. This will include tavern nights as well as other various events that will hopefully spark allot of interest among the RP community and get everyone excited and looking forward to RPing. I do not want to step on any toes so I will try very hard not to clash with any other events being hosted (Like the Friday night tavern night). My goal is to bring a heavy RP guild to the server to give people interested in a very immerse and in depth RP environment a place to call home, as well as be an active participant in the RP community and hopefully get more RP started on the server. Social RP, story lines, as well as just random or "walk up" RPs. My name is Rasmira, and I am happy to now have my guild "The Kinship" as well as a home on Darrowshire, and within the RP community. My main toon will be xfered to Darrowshire when the xfers open up from ZK. Until then I have an alt I am leveling and using to get the guild going, and RP with. Well, I have decided I will be starting the guild on Darrowshire. Given it is the server that seems to have the most active RP community (that I can tell at least) I will be moving my main to darrowshire once the ZK xfers are open but until then I have made another toon on darrowshire I am leveling to act as an advocate for her and create the guild, as well as try and recruit some. I am very excited to introduce a full RP guild and hope that it will give people heavily interested in RP a place to call home. I have made a discord for the guild, as well as a web site with more detailed information about the guild that I will be putting into a forum post once I have actually created the guild. Currently I just reached level 10 on my darrowshire toon and purchased the charter and am in need of signatures in order to get it officially formed. If anyone is interested in helping by signing the charter feel free to post your in game name here, or message me. No one who signs the charter has to stay after it is formed so even just making a lvl 1 alt to sign would be fine.
