Skullflame shield has a lifesteal effect. That should scale with healing, no?
-
Hey all, First of all I don't know if this is the right forum to post this in, if not feel free to move it around. So I play on Elysium as a paladin and I asked about the Skullflame Shield in the paladin discord. I know that many paladins use it to aoe farm monsters. Somone who plays on Anathema (where the shield apparently works properly) recommended the shield to me but said that it scaled at 43% of +healing instead of 100%, which it should (and does on Anathema). I saved up the money and bought the shield but I pretty quickly found out that it doesn't seem to scale with +healing at all. I tried a set with +450 healing and one with +150 healing and the life steal proc hit for the same exact amount. I'm wondering a few things now: 1) Is the shield scaling at all with +healing / +spell dmg? 2) Is the way it currently works on Elysium the correct behaviour, a bug or the way it's supposed to work in this patch? 3) If it's a bug is there an ETA on the fix? If it's the way it works in this patch, in what patch does it get changed? Thanks for any answers in advance, Xentrus

In realmlist.wtf under set realmlist.... add a line that says "set realmname Elysium" (or replace elysium with w/e realm you play on) without quotation marks. Should fix it for you. Good luck.

You probably changed your default realm to naxx ptr, your characters were NOT transferred there. In your realmlist.wtf in your wow folder under set realmlist.... Add a new line that says "set realmname Elysium" (without quotation marks obviously). This should log you default into Elysium and you'll see your chars there. Good luck!

Look man I see where you are coming from and I agree strongly that the transfering of ZK people was in the best interest of every one involved. In my opinion they should merge all servers somehow at some point, but that's another matter. I just wish they could implement a phasing system or something, like blizzard has. I know this would be near impossible with the small amount of staff they have and it's certainly not a priority. But the open world being so populated just feels off. There's loads of people anywhere. It's kinda fun for some things, like finding groups to kill quest monsters, but on the other hand you sometimes have to wait for like half an hour for an escort NPC to respawn. Also if one faction gets a number advantage in a contested zone, it quickly turns into a slaugtherfest. Not to speak about level 60's who kill low levels just for fun (which I don't understand at all, if people just quest and do no harm let them do so IMO). This is MY view on this matter. Again, merging with ZK was the best thing to happen since the MOST IMPORTANT aspect to the server as a whole is the ability to run end-game content and merging allows this. It make sure there are always enough people to do dungeons, raids, battlegrounds and even farm mats and stuff. This is ultimately the BEST thing for the server because the community is still what drives a vanilla server. To address your concerns about my leveling speed. I played on Nost but didn't feel like transferring my chars over right away, and then you couldn't anymore. Started leveling on ZK about a month ago and had a lot of fun on it. Got a warlock to 47. Then on wednesday when the realm went down I started leveling a paladin who's currently in his high 30's. I'm also having exams IRL, so I'm definitely not slacking. It's on this paladin that I discovered the major inconveniences of the big population on the realm and I just felt like voicing them. That's it. Xentrus -

What does that have to do with anything? -
Basically what he and Phoosy said already. They really want to give an experience as close to the original one as possible. But times have changed, so have server capacity and player knowledge and skill. This is why things are tweaked but the end goal is to make it feel as close to what it was in vanilla. This is what they mean by BlizzLIKE is they emulate how it would've been like. If you would just copy/paste vanilla from back then (which you can't, of course), the entire would be so unbalance because every little exploit and advantage possible has been datamined or discovered over those 12 years it's been out. That would make it fun for some, unbalanced for most but in the end most definitely not the kind of behavior you'd expect from a vanilla server. Where ony a handful of people knew what they were doing as opposed to the majority on here.

Lol call it stupid however much you want. But when a lvl 60 keeps ganking me in STV, I'll kill all low level hordes I pass on my way through stonetalon into desolace. At least they're still green level so they give some honor. Why lvl 60's waste their times killing lvl 30-40's is beyond me, but yeah..... -

Agree with above poser though. I just got to 32 and wanted to do the tiger/panther quests in STV. Not only were they just spawncamped but there were tons of both alliance and horde running around including a lot of lvl 60's just killing people for fun. Was able to get 1 tiger and 2 panthers in a span of about half an hour. -
Yeah I don't think this was the intended purpose of the forum, judging by existing threads.

Wether you like it or not, putting all people on the same realm is in the best interest of the server. It means new people are coming in consistently and can replace people who leave (which eventually happens, not everyone plays forever). This is the main reason why Anathema and Darrowshire are also having a hard time right now. After the initial Elysium hype, Zeth'Kur pop dropped and new players rolled on Elysium so after a whille there just weren't enough groups to clear content anymore. Since Elysium and ZK were on the same patch it was very easy to merge them. However, I do not like high pop in the open world either. I'm still leveling myself and as an alliance player I find myself often getting ganked as well (in Ashenvale atm). I usually don't get too salty about this because that's just the cycle of WoW pvp realms, sometimes you gank, sometimes you get ganked and ganking other people feels like retribution for the times you've been killed yourself. Other than the ganking problem there is also the obvious problems of overcrowding in quest zones and too much competition for resources. I do believe that this server has some kind of dynamic respawn that adjusts to the amount of players, similar to how Nostalrius did it, but I'm not sure if this is a good or adequate solution. The upside then is that finding groups for instanced content is much easier and inside these instances there is of course, no competition. This is the main reason why big pop is good. It keeps players engaged with stuff to do at maximum level, be it battlegrounds, dungeons or raids. There will always be people to play with. This is ultimately what matters to most people since most of their time will be spent here. Lastly, another thing is economy. I was a skinner on my main on ZK and I just couldn't sell leather no matter how hard I tried. Also certain rarer items are hard to find (because lack of people farming/finding them) or hard to sell because lack of people interested in them. In my opinion, a bigger population makes for a more stable and enjoyable economy for people of all levels and all different methods of farming. Just my two cents, I would like to see arguments from other people as well. I hope I've been able to put some insights. Xentrus -
No, don't worry. You can just play any character that's not on the Zeth'Kur realm.
-
And as I said they made that post on wednesday. What's your point?
-
They made the post on wednesday. Many people assumed the transfers would be complete on wednesday and they would be able to play on their chosen server right when the realms went out of maintenance.

Merge Elysium and Darrowshire
Xentrus replied to halibut's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
I'm no expert on this topic but I think it's best if both Anathema and Darrowshire get frozen (content wise) until elysium catches up with them and then they all get merged into one big server. This will make it so there's always an influx of new players since there's only one server. That's the problem Anathema and Darrowshire are having, people who roll new characters will roll on a realm where they are least behind and at this point that is Elysium. This effectively stops the stream of new players to both these realms while of course long-time players will always leave. That is the problem with having multiple servers on multiple patches. The only way this can be solved without anyone being disadvantaged in the process is by waiting until elysium catches up with them and then merging. I say this realising that this is especially bad for Anathema, since BWL isn't even out yet on Elysium so it will be a long while until we open the AQ gates. Maybe it's an idea to just play on Elysium with fresh characters and then when the transfers happen in the far future, you can play the old characters you maxed out and poured all your love into. This way you can still play them (after a hiatus of course) on a server with a lot of people and that's on the same patch cycle. Just my two cents.
