Thanks, are there any benefits to getting exalted status, other than other races mounts?

If I create a Night elf and I travel to Dun Morogh and level there instead, would I miss out on certain class based quests in Teldrassil, or just certain quests which are important? I'm asking this because I really don't want to level in Darkshore. Lol
