It's just not healthy for the same server having users all the way from Asia (mostly China). The internet standards are not the same and the latency is big. This massive overpopulation with players around the globe makes the server go nuts. On top of that there is the gold farming issue..
Asia+Oceania +maybe Russia should have their own dedicated server. Having the US and Europe on Elysium is already a big challenge but I could live with that as the population would go down by a large margin when you factor out the rest.
