POLL: Do you want a PvE TBC server?
Chimaera84 replied to Guardian452's topic in General Discussion & Suggestions
^This a million times over. TBC was the last time WoW felt like WoW. While I did really enjoy the setting of Wrath and how fun it was, it was the beginning of the end with its EZmode everything... -
I'm not really a fan of world PvP, especially when I have a ping of around 270 thanks to my distance. I love PvP in BGs, but I know that most PvP servers are gankfests when you're leveling. This goes triple if you're solo leveling (which I expect will happen a lot).

This is an honest question looking for honest opinions, not a troll question so if you want to troll, go to reddit or Warmane forums. A little backstory: I beta'd for Vanilla all the way back in 2004, back when beta meant not really knowing wtf you were doing, running around, finding out about fishing, and getting frustrated when it didn't seem to work. When the game went live I rolled a NE Hunter because hey, I like Ranger-type characters. Didn't particularly care for it, so I rolled a Human Warrior for tanking. Got sick of dying due to crappy healers, so I also rolled a Human Healy Priest. I stayed as a tank/heal for pretty much the entire game, except for a few forays into Shadowpriest DPS. I never even leveled a DPS toon past 40, I liked being a tank/heal so much. I stuck with Alliance as a hardcore raider through all the expansions until MoP, when I finally gave up completely on WoW. During that time, I spent a little bit of effort trying to play Horde side, but never really clicked with the horde-side quests or approach to WoW. I don't know anything past getting up to around level 30 and heading toward the Menethil regions. My current dilemma: I always have wanted to try to play the Horde end of the game in order to see the content. That said, much of the content and differences I want to experience not only happen in the quest side of things, but also in dungeon experiences. Unfortunately, I am in the Asia-Pacific region, and while I've been playing about a week or so, I've noticed that there doesn't appear to be a ton of activity on the Horde side during my online times. I know the Alliance very well, and while I want to experience the Horde side, I don't know if I will actually get to do so very well due to my time-zone and the activity levels of the Horde during my normal play-time here. So, for those of you who have played the Horde, are the stories, quests, zones, and experiences really worth sticking with Horde even if I can't seem to find much activity during my playtime? Or would it be better to stick with the Alliance and have a better chance at activity? Also, if anyone happens to know or have a guild that's active during the 12:00-16:00 UTC time-frame, please feel free to plug them here, Alliance or Horde. I'm happy to be back playing Vanilla, but I want to be sure I can enjoy my limited time now that I'm a family man. ;) Cheers and thanks for any thoughts!

Are you going to play on Elysium TBC realm? (poll)

I'd definitely play on a PvE server. PvP=me dying all the time due to ping. -

New player here, and I rolled on Darrowshire because I have a limited time, crap ping because of being in Asia, and because I wanted to be able to mess around with Horde (never played on live beyond level 30). I would LOVE a TBC server that did a progression run from Vanilla to TBC, but not one that started off as TBC. That said, being new, I don't feel it's my place to make a vote since I'm still learning the community dynamics here. That said, I have done private servers for multiple games, including SWG Pre-CU, and I've found that the more people split off to try to get things "the way we like it", the smaller and smaller communities become. I plan on playing Darrowshire for as long as they have it, and I hope the numbers are able to remain high enough to make the experience fun. Nothing kills servers and communities more than watering down populations just to placate minority groups who claim to want something, then disappear after they've had a few months of fun. -

Hey all! Old hand here from Vanilla to Cata (ignored Panda and left), and I'm looking forward to going back to when the game actually felt worth the effort. Starting off on Darrowshire and probably going to roll Horde since that's the faction I NEVER played on live, but I'm wondering if there are any Asia-Pac guilds/players that are on either Alliance or Horde? I live in Hong Kong and generally play during the 00:00 - 04:00 UTC timeframe during weekdays and would love to get hooked in with some folks who play at the same times. Also, I played as a War Tank and Tankadin on live, as well as healy priest, but being Horde, I won't have the tankadin (yes it wasn't great vanilla, I know). I don't remember whether druid tank was viable in Vanilla, any suggestions are welcome! (I may end up just doing a Troll Priest or something else healy, tbh) any deficits in these classes on Darrowshire/Horde? Oh, and any suggestions on mods that work well? Especially ones for threat management? Much appreciated!
