  1. Just a shot in the dark here but I'm having a tough time frost AOE grinding and need some guidance. I'm currently a lv47 frost mage with a 4k mana pool, rank 3 nova and coc and rank 4 blizzard, and +103 spell power from items. I'm having a big issue with mana control. I'll nova, blink away, cast blizzard x2 then hit the pack with coc. I blink away and maybe get 1 more nova off but then I'm oom and the pack is usually around 30% still. Are my spell levels too high? I figure the more damage output the better but I can't seem to keep my mana up enough to get through even a pack of 3 mobs 1-2 levels below me. Anyway, I attached my talent tree so any advice would be great. This is my first mage char and I really want to get this down. https://imgur.com/a/xXkee https://imgur.com/a/H42lj

I totally agree with you. That's why I haven't responded since my original comment since it wouldn't have added any value otherwise.
  3. It was, I took a screenshot. Thanks again! It's been working for me plus saving a second set of items/armor for grinding that has high Int bonuses. Only issue I'm having is messing up on my rotation because of daze, missing a mob on my blizzard, blinking/running too far away to drop blizzard, or mobs that resist. As I work with it more and get more comfortable with it, those issues are coming up less and less, and it it happens I just reset and try again if I don't die. No mana issues at all anymore is the best thing though.
  4. Looks like they're down again. Can you post to imgur?
  5. Can you post these builds again Zancun? The links are broken.

    Pussy alliance

This was a post from a GM a few weeks back: "Hi there, I cant keep this updated constantly but I just pulled these queries from the database and as of right now the current characters on Nighthaven above level 40 are: Horde: 4992 (51%) Alliance: 4793 (49%) Extremely close. Rain" Reference can be found here https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/62846-33-ally-67-horde-is-this-true/?do=findComment&comment=461380. I can say speaking from a Horde perspective that the situation is no different. I can barely grind/quest in the level 48+ questing zones without being ganked or grieved by alliance mid mob and it's been no different than when I started leveling back in STV when the honor system launched. I've chosen to adapt to this and do the best I can with the hope that the situation would improve after February 10th when Battlegrounds officially launch. I did this because the only options I see is to either adapt or take a break and wait until then.

    Leveling after 1.4

I'm more or less impartial to it all. Yes, it is a bit disconcerting as it's turned into a more or less two steps forward one step back progression throughout my 40+ grind, but I understand that this is just part of the process and what we all implicitly signed up for when we joined the server. The upside is that I have still been able to progress as I have become more keen mitigating it. That may get progressively worse as I enter the level 50+ range as I hear that the later questing zones/grinding spots are the worst since level 60s can gain rank off of you at those levels. Once I can get into some higher level instances, I'll probably just aim my leveling focus there assuming I can fit the time for them into my schedule. It is semi fun though not the low level ganking or the corpse/flight master camping parts though I see the argument both for and against it, but if I see another horde fighting an alliance I might join in the fray and help them out. And if some fellow guild mates want to do some PvP I might tag along with them for a bit. When I played in retail I never considered PvP at all because it never was my strong point nor did I really want to learn and get better at it, but as I've been more and more exposed to the world PvP environment I can find the curiosity in it to want to learn more and practice. Overall, I'm optimistic :) . We'll see what happens...I'm sure I'll get to 60 at SOME point. And if that's not until after February 10th when BGs opens up, I'm totally fine with that. Cheers!
  9. No, I still like to run dungeons from time to time so I prioritize damage with my gear. But I see where you're going with that. I probably should have a second set of gear for grinding. That's a good point.
  10. I can definitely understand both arguments. At first as I was researching AOE grinding all of the specs people had out there included CS as a talent, so I just assumed it made sense to have it. However, I am conscious of the respec costs as I've already respeced one time and now my cost is at 5g to respec again. Just because you mentioned, Zancon, that your spec is good for dungens and raids later on and I wouldn't have to respec right away after reaching 60 is a good perk. Ultimately I do want to respec to fire at 60 as frost I'm finding too boring personally to want to continue with it when I start end game raiding, but not having to respec frost to remove CS once I reach 60 and start the gear grind sounds like the better choice. Again thanks for the advice everyone!
  11. Thanks y'all! I'll give those a go.

%33 Ally %67 Horde? Is this true?

He isn't asking about just the general 50/50 breakdown across the whole server but what the breakdown is in the higher player levels. I'm interested in that answer as well. Sure, the full breakdown may be 50/50, but which faction has the most lower player levels? It seems to me that there are more alliance that are higher levels because you see a lot more high level alliance in contested zones such as STV. IMO it was that way way before the PVP patch launched.
  13. RIP questing in Stranglehorn, lol. Already hard enough as it is without the honor system getting ganked mid mob kill.

    No Honor for Honorable Kills

It hasn't bothered me much yet. Yes, it's unsatisfactory I agree but I find ways to get past it. When you run between zones try to stay near other players (preferably higher levels) and off the roadways. When in quest zones join a group or at stay least close by other players. Avoid any red players when you see them unless you really want to take a shot at one of them, which isn't very advisable. Many times I've run by red players in between zones and haven't been attacked since they were most likely questing too. If you do get engaged try your best to get away or try to get to reinforcements. If you can't get away then maybe its a good time for a 15-20+ minute pee or food break. So far these tactics have worked for me the few times I've been in a bad situation. It sucks when I get engaged and die but I also find it a little fun to try to fight back. If you can get some other friendlies to join in and help you out or be the one to help out another friendly by ambushing their attacker that's fun.
  15. Hi All. I just joined a few days ago. I really didn't pay the private servers much mind as I got burned out of WoW progression soon after Cata launch. I thought my WoW career was over as I sulked from missing out on the second half of ICC. I never got to enjoy the vanilla experience and, after hearing Blizzard's announcement, my craving and interest peeked again. However, I couldn't wait until 2019-2020 to get started so here I am. Anyways, enough jaw boning. I've been catching up on the deal here in Nighthaven PvP and trying to understand the objective and where it's going before I get fully immersed again. My questions are: from what I understand after browsing the forums a bit, is the server only keeping with the Vanilla content for the next few months then bumping up to TBC? Do I have time to level up a toon and enjoy Vanilla content before then? Or did I pick the wrong relm to get started in?

    Vanilla/TBC Progression Question

I agree but it's up to the private server developers. Personally I think there's still a lot of time unless their plan is for Nighthave to progress all the way up to Cata before Blizzard launches the classic servers. However, I don't think that's their goal. Are they planning to even bring WOLIK? I watched Towelliee's stream the other day and he was even saying that he doesn't see them releasing the classic servers until waaaaay down the road. Even later than 2019 maybe even into 2020. They still haven't even hired the developer team yet and that can even take a long time. There's also no telling how long it will take them to recode all the content to adapt to the current technology we have. Until Blizzard gives more detail about classic servers I don't see any rush.

    Vanilla/TBC Progression Question

Thanks again all. No, I'm not complaining either. I'm just trying to understand before I get immersed in it as well. I started a mage and got as far as level 9 now, but also heard about the struggles of leveling in vanilla. I was hoping to get a shot at clearing all the vanilla content before the official servers launch, but with a full time job and a wife with a kid on the way I don't see it happening here before TBC. I'm going to stick with it though and just try to learn the classes a bit and figure out what fits me best. I played a prot pally back in my WOLIK days but wanted to try a good dps class since my tanking skills were never super great. If they progress the server through TBC and WOLIK, I might have to switch back to that class and give tanking a shot again since I loved it. My guild never made it past Prof. Putricide though. I always wanted that Lich King kill back in the day.

    Vanilla/TBC Progression Question

Thanks Piro! But I thought it also stated, "Experience, gold, and loot gains will be the standard Blizzlike 1x." Forgive me if I'm having trouble, but how does blend with the fast-paced progression?
