Greetings,

 

Wanted to take a moment and express my appreciation to the Elysium team for the ongoing costs, and time investment to run these servers.  I, like many wasn’t happy on the direction the retail version went and have been unhappy, missing the days of old.  I started in beta and played till panda and stopped.

 

I recently tried another private server and almost made it to 40, however the lag was so bad it made PVP as a player from the USA impossible.  Up until recently things have been pretty smooth here even with a 120-140ms ping from the US.

 

I’m really having a great time here. What’s really been interesting is leveling without a plethora of gear. This is the first time I have ever leveled in gear I made entirely myself, although it’s not always the best stats you want it’s nice to have something.  Because things are still ramping up and the market isn’t there for said gear I took the crafting route.   Also it’s been very efficient questing without too many leap froggers. It’s nice to get in at the ground floor.

 

I have some idea of the costs associated with running the servers along with the continued time investment it takes to keep the ball rolling here.  It’s very much appreciated and a big thank you for allowing us to relive the glory days when the game had wealth.  Thanks again!

 

Most that have started MMO’s post 2004 in general can’t really appreciate or understand the game during this time.  This was my first MMO that I could actually get things done on my own solo and feel rewarded for my time.  I played FFXI for the longest time among a few others and when this came out I gave it a try and was hooked. Before Wow you were really limited on what you could do and accomplish in other mmos. 

 

Back in the day, my first toon was a Hunter but ended up reaching Rogue first due to issues related to hunters at launch. But once they were fixed It was my second 60. I played all classes minus Pally and Priest to 60, I did level those as well but many xpacs later, so it doesn't count.

I started as alliance, reached 60 on Rogue and Hunter. Then tried Horde and mained Enhancment Shaman for quite a while.  At the time I worked 2^nd shift and played from 12am-5am. I never had the opportunity to raid due to play times.  Because of that, end game it was quite hard for me to find a balanced PVP experience.  Once hitting 60 I’d just reroll and start the process again of leveling, for that balanced feel along the way.  Hoping something works out this time around. Always wanted to do MC and BWL in a raid. 

 

That lag monster has arrived for me here last week, especially in PVP.  Last night this hunter owned me 4 times across two different zones and half the time I’d just instantly go from 80% to dead without any indication on why, no shots fire, or pet damage received, just insta dead.  

 

I hope in time this can be fixed soon, because outside of thatI have to say this is really quite enjoyable, the community is great and it’s nice to talk in groups again and make new friends.
