(Horde) R&D Community Raid/PvP Guild Information Thread

Greetings Elysium, as with the influx of new players, groups, and personalities, I've come to talk to you about the group we're organizing with our Twitch and Discord community! While we don't have a name voted on yet (we're going through the process now through a strawpoll linked on our Youtube announcement video as well as Discord), we do have a core ready to move forward eagerly.

 

We're looking at actively raiding, mildly organized PvP activities, and focusing on creating a supportive environment for both experienced and new players to the Vanilla experience. As it stands, we already have a pretty large community through Discord and our Youtube/Twitch audience, giving players coming in an already solid basis to work off of. In addition, many of us also played during Vanilla in some way, giving us the leadership to have a major presence on Fresh Start.

 

Having lead raids during Vanilla in some ways, I'll be handling most of the major organization, however we'll be looking for Tank/Heal/mDPS/rDPS leads, as well as an officer for recruitment and player assistance. These choices will be based off activity with the group leading up to Fresh Start launch, as well as activity during the first week on the server going live.

Right now, the best thing you can do is join our Discord as well as checking out our latest Youtube update on where the organizing is at. Feedback is always great, and best put through our Legacy_wow discord channel, as our mods and I check it religiously.

 

And finally, a reminder that we are stronger together. We move forward to make Blizzard realize how wrong they are about what we think we want. We continue to stand as one for what we want in our gaming experience, and every single person on this server, and every brave enough to risk their streams/businesses/organizations in this effort deserves to know how much they matter. I definitely look forward to playing with the R&D community on the Fresh Start server! This is definitely an amazing group of people. They know how to have fun in the game and stay organized so it isn't just a bunch of jumbled chaos. With Dan leading this pack I see a very bright future for their guild on Elysium. Most importantly I look forward to the future of the Legacy WoW community, be it Vanilla, TBC or any expansion of World of Warcraft. I have faith that we can prove to Blizzard that we are worth their time.

What favorite names of mine I can claim will go a long way to determining what class/race I'm going to play.

 

While I love the gameplay of the Mage and the Rogue, I usually shy away from choosing overplayed classes and at the moment I am leaning towards a [Orc] (probably Enhance) Shaman, a class I've never played.

 

And then again, as much as I love the gameplay of a Rogue, I hate getting ganked by them. So its very possible with as many Rogues as I suspect there are going to be, I may end up as a class that can counter them which I'm guessing is a Warrior or perhaps a Hunter.. or another Rogue (sigh).

 

Elysium and the return of Nostalrius is the best [gaming] news I've had all year. A big, big, thank you to everyone that is involved in getting it off the ground.

Getting very excited about the R&D Community guild on Elysium. Been testing some classes and getting back into the joy that is Vanilla WoW. I'll most likely be rolling my trusty Priest for healing. Downranking spells.... god I missed Vanilla spell bars.

We've been getting a lot of questions about raid times, and while we haven't got exact times planned, I can happily tell you all that we are looking at times that will be friendly to both EU and US individuals. I'd like to have raiding happen on at most Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, but most likely it'll be two or three of those, with 20mans being organized in those times or on the side, depending on how things are going. The problem with that being on EU friendly times, US people may not be able to make events on Monday or Tuesday, so it's something to consider.

 

Additionally, I've been rolling around the idea of when we're starting out, having two separate 20-man groups gearing up with UBRS, DM, and ZG, only coming together when we feel we're ready to hit MC and start taking it down. It would suck not to be hitting MC/Ony right off the bat though, so I'm not sure on that plan either. Whatever your thoughts are on when we should raid, please toss your thoughts in discord and start generating some data on when we should be scheduling. Once we complete our poll for our guild name, we'll work on hammering this out so people have something more concrete to grab on when it comes to what we're gonna be doing.

Seems like it's going to be a cool guild.

I'm going to join yall for the fresh server, rolling an Orc Warlock, and don't care which raiding spec I end up needing to run, but prefer DSRuin.
