Harkonen 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 Hello, I intend to level up a shaman in enhancement spec, grind end game dungeons for some pre-bis and then start pvping as enhancement as well. A few items that are pre-bis are the black dragonscale set and chromatic gauntlets. My question is; is it worth taking skinning+LW from the get go and craft the gear myself? It has been a while since I have played at a vanilla private server so I do not know if crafting your own armor is profitable when you only play 1 character. Would love to hear your tips Regards.
eukal 1 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 If you wanna go for PvE the devilsaur set is a serious option. I got it for like 150g, you don't really need leatherworking. In case you want some more gear options take a look at my guide:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwC4_LrdCvE Greetings Eukal
Motorbreath 923 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 If you're gonna go PvP, take engineering. There are better items pre-raid anyway.

Ingineering for PvP Alchemy+herbalism for PVE Mining+Herbalism for money, and believe me, you will need a shitty lot of money ! Personnaly, i begin with leatherworking, but it's pretty useless until you farm some reput. It's difficult to make money with it. I will change at relaunch for Alchemy+herbalism for begin my raid farming.
Harkonen 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 Thanks for the tips. Since I do not really intend to focus on PvP until level 60 I will take Mining and Harb/Skinning so I can make some money. Also I would appreciate hearing which items are actually better for an enhancement shaman pre-raid bis on a fresh server since all the stuff from AQ20/ZG and DM are not available.
Hirag 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 You will found pretty good stuff on the Eukal's guide. They are some other links too !
Schnarr 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) The problem with engineering is that the elements may abandon you for arrogantly relying on mortal's craft to gain power... and for greedily thrusting your mining pick into mother earth, if you got mining as gathering profession. Acebentura 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) You want engineering if you're going to PVP, there is NOTHING that comes close to it for PvP, you could be gearless and Engineering would be more helpful than any single piece of gear you can get. The second is up to you, go nuts. But if you're going to PvP, you will NEED engineering, especially to deal with warriors. Edit - I have engineering and Alchemy, and alchemy is borderline useless as there are so many of them, i'd take a gathering profession and make gold, everything else you need is buyable. Akoni 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2017 (edited) I switched over from Herbalism to Mining but noticed a stark difference in nodes spawning. Are respawn rates for mining ores very low? Also, is it best to level Engineering at end-game or as I'm leveling my toon? Are the Engineering items in question for level 60 PvP/WPvP only? Will they also help for PvE? Thank you for your time! It is just so long time when I played vanilla last time, so just can't remember all the engineering tricks in vanilla. What was the most important items for the pvp? I remember only rocket-boots for WSG, but u are talking about pvp:ing against warriors. I had engineering in vanilla with my mage and didn't use it so much becouse mage was just an alt.

Bombs for stuns/mana drains/roots, trinkets for ridiculous damage, trinkets for ridiculous damage REDUCTION. Novelty items like rocket head that can blow up entire raids in world PvP.. Engineering is just by far the best for PvP. As anything that isn't a mage/druid/rogue, the ONLY WAY to get a warrior off you is engineering bombs.

Engineering is the one profession I'm the most unfamiliar with during vanilla and the subsequent expansions, so It''ll be an adventure getting to learn/level it.
