I HAVE the DC fix!

Recommended Posts

Step 1: open notepad on your desktop type in said file set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org

Step 2: save that file as realmlist.wtf

Step 3: click and drag that file to your WoW files

Step 4: there is another realmlist notepad file visible in the files of WoW open that and type set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org hit save

Step 5: start game

Step 6: thank me :)

So I drag the new notepad item and remove the old one? Or keep both ?

No, the one you created on your desktop is saved as realmlist.wtf which is a hidden file the one visible in your WoW files is just a file but also needs to be updated so yes you have two in there but one is visible the other is not

well the one visible isn't called realmlist.wtf it's just realmlist so...not the same :P

If that is the case wow.exe will only read realmlist.wtf .... making "realmlist" useless.

Are you sure your just not having the file extensions showing ?

This fix doesn't make sense, at least for me , must be missing something.

Also ensure that "SET realmName" in WTF/Config.wtf is properly set so you join the right realm instead of being instantly disconnected if the realm is down/locked.

If you don't care about your config you can simply delete the entire WTF folder. Afterwards you see the realmlist again to pick any working realm.

look i have no clue why it worked but it did.

I deleted WTF config three times didn't work then i read the wtf config itself and it was trying to log on to blizz servers so i changed the realmlist file i see on my wow files to up top and i started the game bam worked.

for some reason the config was using the realmlist file...now the realmlist.wtf file i can't see so i had to make it on the desktop then move to the folder.

You poor soul's here is how you fix the error.

Go into your World of Warcraft>WTF folder

open the Config.wtf with notepad,

Then find SET realmName and delete between the two "IM STUCK IN PVP LOCKOUT realm" and save.

the reload your WoW client and you should be able to queue.

This advice doesn't work for most people because in step 2, saving a new notepad file as realmlist.wtf will actually append a hidden .txt to the end of the file.  So you actually end up with realmlist.wtf.txt.  One way to escape this is to use double quotes around it and save as "realmlist.wtf"

I created notepad and saved as realmlist.wtf  I then dragged into wow folder and it said a file with this name already exist do you want to replace it or keep both... I click keep both and it shows up directly below my original realmlist notepad that was originally in the file? what am I doing wrong I still can't connect?

Hi all,

Running into this same error.

When inputting my username and password I am immediately presented with an error that says "Disconnected from server"

I have the content realmlist.wtf file update to "set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org"

I have attempted to follow the additional directions by changing the set RealmName in the WTF > Config; however, there is no Set Realmname to change as people above have indicated.

If I am able to add a specific Set "realmname" what exactly is the format?

For example, if the realm I am looking to play on is Nostalrius PVE how would I add that to the config file?

I'm hoping that I am interpreting what exactly is being communicated properly

Any additional details would be much appreciated

For reference, this is exactly what is listed in my WTF Config File

SET hwDetect "0"
SET gxColorBits "24"
SET gxDepthBits "24"
SET gxResolution "1024x768"
SET gxRefresh "60"
SET gxMultisampleQuality "0.000000"
SET gxFixLag "0"
SET fullAlpha "1"
SET lodDist "100.000000"
SET SmallCull "0.040000"
SET DistCull "500.000000"
SET trilinear "1"
SET frillDensity "24"
SET farclip "500.000000"
SET specular "1"
SET pixelShaders "1"
SET particleDensity "1.000000"
SET unitDrawDist "300.000000"
SET movie "0"
SET readTOS "1"
SET readEULA "1"
