Issue Renaming My Main Character who has a forced namechange

I am having an issue with two characters on the PVP realm. Their old names had special characters in them, so they are flagged for rename, yet when I try to rename them, it stays at "renaming character" for about 3-5 minutes, then just says "Character Rename Failed"

 

I have tried this over and over for about half an hour now with no success.

UPDATE: This is still happening and have spoken with over half a dozen other people with the same issue. It may be possible that it is a timeout issue right now, I do hope that is the case.

Final UPDATE: Was able to successfully rename my characters after the server population went down a bit in the middle of the night. It seems it was just timing out.
