UltraTaco 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2016 The provided mac client linked on the website (The torrent with the file WoW_1.12.1_Mac.zip) doesn't work. It just says "The application 'WoW Classic.App' can't be opened". I know you guys don't do tech support for WoW or anything, but clearly this is a big issue. I doubt my mac is the problem. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'm currently downloading a separate Mac 1.12.1 from another torrent in hopes that one will work
tacky187 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) For some reason, the WoW Classic internal package app doesn't have the rights to execute. In Terminal, browse to your root WoW Classic folder and run: chmod +x "Wow Classic".app/Contents/MacOS/* Edited December 18, 2016 by tacky187

In Terminal, browse to your root WoW Classic folder and run: chmod +x "Wow Classic".app/Contents/MacOS/* Hey there, I'm new to all of this as I normally run stock apple apps. How exactly can I do this? I don't seem to find how to edit the folder in terminal

I don't seem to find how to edit the folder in terminal Hmm, if you don't know your way around Terminal, I think the easiest way would be: 1) Enable "New Terminal at Folder" by going to Settings -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Services -> Scroll to 'Files and Folders' and check 'New Terminal at Folder'; This will let you launch terminal straight into any folder in Finder. 2) Now go back to Finder and browse to where you have the WoW Classic unzipped; mine was in Downloads. Now right (two finger) click on the main WoW Classic folder and from the menu go to Services -> "New Terminal at Folder"; this will launch terminal already in the folder you want. 3) Now run the command I list above: chmod +x "Wow Classic".app/Contents/MacOS/* If it's done right, you'll get no error and act like you just hit enter. But if you open the WoW Classic icon, it should now run. UPDATE: I just entered the world for the first time, woot! Could it be because i'm on Sierra?
