Unable to play due to certain files not existing or something?

Hello guys,

 

I thought maybe it'd be fun to see Vanilla WoW again, and so I decided to try out Nostalrius this time around.

 

What I have done:

 

I downloaded the game file from the Elysium Project site setup description. I changed the realm list file to read "elysium-project.org" where it should. I signed up on the Elysium website and authenticated my account.

 

What happens:

 

When I launch the game it fails to connect/start up correctly and tells me that the dbghelp.dll and DivxDecoder.dll files are not there. I noticed in the WoW file I downloaded there is a weird symbol for those two files--and a few others like "fmod.dll" and "ijl15.dll" and "Scan.dll" and "unicows.dll" that I have never seen before that looks like two blue outlined cogwheels? I understand I'm not probably supposed to be able to open these files; however, I am just not familiar with that. It seems like the file type is unreadable by my computer or something.

 

What I have tried:

 

I have reinstalled the game three times now from the same source. I'm not aware of how to get a different souce to work. There are two magnets on the page to click for a download, are they different? This is the first time I've torrented.

 

As a note:

 

I was able to download the file on a different computer and successfully get to the character creation screen last night; however, the game froze and/or crashed and then this issue occurred with the same files. I am now experiencing the same issue on a different computer. 

 

Would appreciate help on getting to play Vanilla!

Download uTorrent.

Use this for downloading torrents. Once the download is completed, right click the file in uTorrent and "Open File Location".

Once you find the .rar file, extract the folder to your desktop or somewhere you will remember.

Open realmlist and change it to "set realmlist xxxxxxxxxxx" and ta-da!

You can now play vanilla wow.

So, I was able to play for a while actually--a couple of hours, after eventually getting the download to work; however, I just lagged out/crashed and when restarting the game up it gave the same errors. Anyone have any ideas?
