Missing my character portrait/target frame

Recommended Posts

So I got back on the PvP realm after I got dc'd and couldn't log on for about an hour even though other players were on. I got back on finally and my character frames are missing completely. I don't know what could've caused this and I've tried a few things like deleting the old wtf files I was using with my addons and replaced them with the original 1.12.1 wtf/wdb/interface files. I've deleted the entire wow folder completely and re-extracted it from winrar. I've ran a run system code but to no avail. Is it just me experiencing this problem and if so how do I fix it?

Also I'd take a screen shot but it's not working either..

If you can't take a screenshot in game for w/e reason, open your Start menu if you're using Windows and type Snipping Tool. You can use this to capture your screen and save it.

I've found a script command to fix my character portrait issues and have reinstalled my addon package since then. I've fixed everything but a couple of in game pop ups that are missing and seem to be above my screen that I can't see but I will resolve them as time goes on. I don't know if it's because my resolution got messed up or something else. I got a reply from a GM ticket saying that other people have had this problem so hopefully they'll address it soon.

FOR ANYONE MISSING THEIR CHARACTER PORTRAITS AND FRAMES: Do this - Reinstall your addons or addon package you had installed before it got messed up. After doing so run these scripts -

/run PlayerFrame:ClearAllPoints() PlayerFrame:SetPoint("CENTER",UIParent,-200,-50)

/run TargetFrame:ClearAllPoints() TargetFrame:SetPoint("CENTER",UIParent,200,-50)

/run FocusFrame:ClearAllPoints() FocusFrame:SetPoint("CENTER",UIParent,-200,50)

You will need the "move anything" addon to fix things like your quest log/social log/ other things that are out of place so you can drag them down into your preferable position. After you've done this you need to re-log or exit the game to save the placement of said things. Somethings may still be missing from your screen that you aren't able to re-position or move but until Elysium-Nostalrius addresses this issue you will either have to wait, or figure it out on your own. I'm sure they are busy addressing latency problems and the ddos attacks they are experiencing first and foremost. So just be patient. Most of the critical character frame issues that affect game play can be fixed with this method that I've given you. The problems you may have with character frames that this method cannot deal with... you just have to deal with them for now. I don't know what caused this problem or how it can be entirely corrected. This is just a quick fix method so you can continue questing/leveling your character.
