SakeSamurai 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) Recommending the developers to find out if it is the efficiency of the code that is maxed out or the hardware that causes the lag at population peak. Ping is fine at most times. Sweden 30-40ms If it is the hardware the developers should try running it on a server with better performence. I bet most people would manage to donate a little bit extra for better performence. Or just cap it at a lower population so there is no bottlenecks. Also if Elysium manages to find some good developers they should really try to optimize the clustering. (I don't know if clustering runs on different servers at the moment.) More servers with cross realm battlegrounds will be nice. I think that a population above 10k is overkill. Retail wow clustering was done the following. (One World of Warcraft PVE/PVP Server.) 1 Login Server. 1 World server for each continent. 1 Server for each Major city. 1 Server for Chat. 1 Server for Instances. 1 Server for Battlegrounds. There were about 3000-4000 people per server. But keep in mind that Retail did not unload grids the same way private server frameworks do. (Retail Creatures could walk across an entire continent without the grids being unloaded by the server. Which took an awful amout of resources. On private server frameworks the grid is loaded when you walk near creature spawns and unloaded when you walk away from them.) Found the clustering demo here. Cannabiswand 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2016 Clustering is what makes retail server cost about 50k$ per month to keep running correct me if i'm wrong.
