Multi boxing question

Hi guys, since the old thread about multi boxing got a bit old and with about 5 pages, I think I should probably create a new one to get my question answered. If anything, just merge this thread with the older one I suppose.

 

Right, so I do have a 60 horde priest from Nost and I like ganking a bit. Am I allowed to, say, have a lvl 1 ally in a nearby town to see what they're talking about in /1 and other channels? For example: I'm ganking in wetlands right now, am I allowed to have a lvl 1 parked in Menethil to read the chat?
