Problems with lag.

Hey, every time I try to talk about his in game i get told that i'm entitled and to shut up so i'm gonna try on here.

 

 Every time I get online the PvP Server or the PvE Server I look at my latency and its green and says 220 MS and that's not great, but its fine. Then after 5 minutes its Skyrockets to the upper 700's which is bad. Then after another brief period of time its up to 1500 and I cant play at that point and i get off.

 

 Is ANYONE else having this problem or is it just because i live in the middle of nowhere. I play games like Overwatch and retail just fine no lag at all. I really love this game and don't wanna have to not play it.

I'm having this issue as well. I only get about 20 mins or less of  playable time a day.

Problems with lag are always tough because they're generally all unrelated and really difficult to find the source. 

Where are you located on this planet earth? Have you always had this lag?

I live in the east coast of the US. I've never had a problem with the original nostalrius and I don't have any issues with any other game or private server. The game is usually playable for about 10 minutes and then I spike up to 1500 ms which I have experienced before on a private server which was a pain but it was still playable. It says 1500 but I feel like its much higher then that. The lag comes in huge spikes. I'll be fine for 30 seconds and then lag spike where for 2 mins nothing I do is registered and then everything changed all at once which has resulted in a crazy amount of deaths even for vanilla wow. The weirdest thing is during the lag I'm not able to do anything but move which isn't actually registered but I still see other people moving and talking as though there is no lag at all. On top of all this every 5-10 minutes i disconnect, but its not an instant disconnect. Its a disconnect when you lag out so I usually have a second wow open so I can log into that one while the other one lags out. A lot of people are saying its just lag so just deal with it but honestly the game is completely unplayable. I've played every day since the launch of the fresh private server despite the frustration and I only have a level 12 hunter to show for it. I have read about 10 different forums and a lot of people are having this same issue. Like you said it is going to be hard to pin point this problem but I'm pretty sure it's not location because I've read posts from people around the same region as me who have no issues at all.

I tried deleting my WDB and WTF folders and I changed the settings in game for view distance. Neither have worked and now I don't even get my 10 mins of play time.

I think everyone is still scrounging around for a solution to this.  One interesting thing I've just read is to check your processes while you're running wow (control alt delete).  If you see a large number of processes running for wow, it could be that an anti virus program keeps interrupting it and so it keeps generating new open files...til they get to be so many that it lags out then crashes wow.  worth looking into.
