Problem with starting the Game on my Mac

Hello everyone,

 

I am looking for some help. I downloaded the Mac Client on my Mac and unzipped it+edited the realmlist.wtf (same as I did on my windows desktop) Now when I want to run the Game, it is telling me that the program "Wow classic" can't be open on this PC.

 

My current software is OS X El capitan 10.11.6

 

If any of you knows the solution, I would really appreciate any help.

Windows .exe applications cannot be run on a Mac by default. You've got to install Wine/Winebottler previously and once it's done right click on "Wow.exe" and "Open with Wine".

 

I've got the same version of OS X and it does work for me. You shouldn't have any problems.

Hard to tell what's wrong based on the information you have given. What does the error message say exactly? What hardware are you using?

Poster above mentions Wine which is not needed to run the native Mac client except if you want a workaround for the infamous zeppelin/boat bug.

It exactly states "Das Programm „WoW Classic“ kann nicht geöffnet werden. " which is the german for the program "WoW Classic" can't be opened.

 

I am running it on the normal MacBook newest Version.

You cant use windows programs on a mac without running simulations or dual boating etc..

Download the mac version of the game, its even listed on the websites "how to". And it will work, the realm list is even pre-edited so its ready to play.
