Stuck On Authenticating and Then Disconnected from Server? (Screenshots Included!)

Hi, im a new wow player looking at start in a vanilla state!

 

I will let you know all the steps I followed in order to get where I am now: 

 

1. Downloaded google drive link 1 from here: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2803

2. Let it download, then I extracted everything from the folder

3. Did the WoW installer setup from here: http://imgur.com/a/hYTko

4. I got everything in this folder thereafter the installer setup: http://imgur.com/a/owzld

5. I opened up the realmlist and set it exactly to this and specifically saved it, it's even on read only: http://imgur.com/a/wwVuG

 

I made a shortcut on my desktop and when I run it on try to log in, it gets me stuck on authenticating for about 30 seconds to 1 min, then it says disconnected from server.

 

Please help! Thank you.

UPDATE: I got on, but I connected to the normal server, and I think I realized that I probably shouldn't have done that. Now it connects me but disconnects me right away.\

 

 

EDIT: Now i dont get anything, it says connecting then disconnects me automatically, I will restart the download process.

I have the exact same issue and then after experimenting with the realmlist.wtf to no avail I decided to just press ok on the recommendation instead of going to the realm selector. This was a bad idea in hindsight as now I can't even login at all, I just get disconnected straight away. In the corner of my login screen I'm connected to QA Test Realm 1.2.

 

Are you on a mac by any chance OP? Because I am.

No, sorry I'm not on mac. I decided to redownload the entire thing

I'm having the same problem. I clicked on "normal" and it says QA Test Realm 1.5. It will log in and everything is fine then it immediately disconnects. I don't really want to make another account for each realm just to find the one that works. Can someone just tell me if there is a working server so I only have to make one other account?

You accidentally tried to login to the test realm. You have three options:

- Press escape right as it says "success" to get a realm selection.

- Delete the whole line containing "set realmname blablabla" in /WTF/config.wtf

- Delete the entire /WTF/config.wtf mentioned above. You'll lose some graphic and interface settings if you do this.

This worked for me. But I dun goofd and I quit the game on ultra graphics and now it crashes whenever I log in. F*ck...

I redownloaded everything and I'm in now! Topic can be locked now
