Unclefucker 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2016 Hi all. I have some questions regarding playing a lock in a new server. 1. Since enchanters' wands will be expensive, what is the fastest way one can get a wand if she is not an enchanter herself? Most early quest maybe... (talking about horde... I think ) 2. Have you ever actually farmed for Robes of Arcana while leveling (not with your 60 main). If yes, where? The quest robe is really good, but does it worth the grind? 3. Do you suggest spending the cloth on tailoring to get to bags as soon as you can? 4. Considering the high population that will make mining nodes really hard to get, do you feel that skinning might be the best till 60 since you will get your beasts no matter what with no competition?
Numi 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2016 The level 5 and level 13 enchanting wands are so overpowered I'd probably spend all the money I'd make on them rather than anything else, be it spells, gear or food / water, at level 5 the wand will 4 shot mobs. Besides those, you'll generally pick something up from mobs, IIRC there's only like one or two wands from quests, but I'd not recommend them as you'll find other wands from the AH that are better. Wands is like the one thing worth spending money on besides your skills as a warlock.
Larsen 3 Report post Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Every newbie region has a quest for a wand around level 14ish. It's a bit long to wait compared to getting an enchanter wand at 5, but those might just not be available at all for the first couple of days. Look up wands in a database, sort from lowest to highest level and find the one that comes from a quest in your area. This is the Barrens one: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?quest=863 Doable at level 14, but you probably need one or two people there to help you. There's almost certainly going to be plenty of people anyway. Edited December 30, 2016 by Larsen
Suprfli6 3 Report post Posted December 31, 2016 (edited) Edit- This info is probably wrong, sorry. Lesser Magic Wand will probably be the original white version which is terrible, not the much better green version you see on most vanilla databases. So I wouldn't count on using one or at least look into whatever wand quest there is in your 10-20 leveling zone and complete it ASAP. Best bet will probably be to take enchanting yourself and DE low level green weapons (most have 80% chance to be Lesser Magic Essence) and then buy some of the wood required (38 copper each) and try to find someone who has powerleveled enchanting to 75+ and have them make the level 5 wand for you. And have the mats for the level 13 wand ready so you can do the same thing once you've leveled some more. I wouldn't count on getting reasonably priced wands from the AH early on.
