Yep I have the same problem with the chats bugging. I can see other players talk and chat in each channel but I cannot use any channels general, trade, local defense, /say, /yell, /whisper etc. I already googled the issue and found 2 "solutions" but neither of them worked. First I deleted the chat cache of my character inside WTF folder and after that didnt work I deleted WDB and WTF folders both and still nothing. I have relogged over 10 times and left / rejoined the chat channels but nothing seems to work.

The problem isn't accountwide for me. Made an orc alt and it can speak freely but my nelf priest cannot communicate whatsoever in any channel.

Hello

Barrowing the thread, im having the same issue.

I leveled to 35, and suddenly i couldnt use any chat functions anymore, (emotes does work)

I logged on to my 60 warrior on the PVP server and that character could chat.

Im having problems with my horde character on Nostalrius PVE Server (Level 35 Undead Mage Nessum)

It just started to work for me again. Try again in an hour if you have the same issue :)

I REALLY hope this is the case for me to.

It happened to me within the last hour during "Guild Chat". After reading various posts here i can add that NO use of any "trigger" words occured.

Ive literally tried everything. Im just in the process of a clean install

Im not very hopeful tho, so maybe ill be lucky & it'll correct itself  :/

EDIT: I ended  up doing a clean install  & everything went back to normal. Its been fine since.

I will add however that the gold spammers seem to be FAR LESS than before, so maybe it was worth being "cut-off" from chat for a while   :/

For me the clean install didnt work at all. Previously I had the problem on my night elf priest and it was fixed once server restarted. Now I have the problem with my horde priest on Nost pvp.

Not a bug, either a GM muted you for spam or the Anti-spam/Anti-Goldseller system muted you. It won't be permanent. It is operating as intended.

If you still cannot type 24 hours later, put in an ingame ticket about it and a GM will assist you when they can. They are very busy at the moment.
