I can't talk anymore?

All my chats are ''bugged'' /s  /r  /g /y /world /general etc. I can see other people talk though. Last night this happened, i went to sleep, it worked again and 5 minutes into playing again this happened again, i tried restarting wow, turning off addons etc. nothing is helping, ive heard other people had this issue too. Any ideas?

Same here, happened around 15 minutes ago. Everything was going as usual, I was advertising a run for a dungeon when suddenly my messages don't go through anymore. I tried relogging, disabling all my addons but nothing worked. I first thought it was spamthrottle causing this but doesn't seem to be the reason. Around 10 minutes before I couldn't speak I typed the name of a gold site that kept spamming me in guild chat, I don't know if that's related, perhaps automated mute?

 

EDIT: 35 mins after making this post I can now type again

You may be on to something...a guildy of mine was asking for a DM boost, jokingly I suggested using the name of a Gold Site for power levelling as no one wanted to boost him. Bingo. Muted.

Yeah Same I cant speak anymore in any of the chats after talking about how it must of sucked for the guys who got their accounts comprised. Shame :( Let us muted player gather together in a circle of sadness.

Ive literally just found myself not being able to use any chat channel whatsoever.

However, it happened to me whilst using my guild chat, & there was certainly no mention of "Gold-sellers" etc. I appear to be the only one affected (though with this kind of fault, its unclear yet tbh) so far.

It happened just after all the disconnection issues &  rollbacks etc.

 

I NEED this fixed BADLY!!!!!! This type of fault is an actual GAME-BREAKER in any mmorpg.

I got 'auto-muted' for about an hour yesterday after jokingly telling my friend to go buy gold from a website to afford a twink item, and then again earlier today for typing something similar in guild chat after a guildy was talking about an expensive item. After the second mute I noticed the pattern and warned everyone in the guild not to type any URLs for website potentially involved in gold selling, and subsequently got muted again. Obviously I was more than a little frustrated and haven't been on since, seen as the third time all I did that could possibly have triggered the auto-mute was mention the words 'gold selling'. If I can't even warn my friends about how not to get muted then what the hell am I actually allowed to type? As much as I am aware this is a free server and everyone behind it is a volunteer, it would be rather nice to actually be able to communicate with other players considering it's a ваууing MMO and not get muted for saying a seemingly innocuous phrase. Oh, and might I add that within the second hour long mute I got the exact same gold selling message from the same player (Tordrasil or something along those lines) about 10 times, so whatever system is in place does not work one bit.

Not a bug, either a GM muted you for spam or the Anti-spam/Anti-Goldseller system muted you. It won't be permanent. It is operating as intended.
