Due to the recent Gold issues

Recommended Posts

I found this item wich my Auctioneer says it was sold for 200g. This item was obviously used in a gold transaction.

My question is, if i put this up for sale in the AH for this price and someone buys it ( obvisouly a gold seller) will i get a ban?

But you're not ripping off a gold seller.  You're ripping off someone who had their account hacked by a gold seller.  As the gold doesn't come out of thin air, it's stolen from hacked accounts.

I find it hard to believe that based on that alone, they would ban the account. As unlikely as it sounds some one could have put it up there as a legit auction, there are people out there who intentionally put items on the AH that are way over priced in the hopes that someone is stupid enough to click and buy it. Even on accident.

Second, people should make sure their passwords are strong and changed often and not do things that could get their accounts hacked.

Now with that being said, I typically don't put items up for extreme amounts of gold. I follow the trend and under cut by about 3-5% particularly there was a tailoring pattern that there was only 3 on the AH and all priced around 50g. Should I worry about a gold spammer accidentally buying my item and me getting banned? That doesn't sound reasonable to me.

I am sure there are other ways to track this on their end. I could be wrong but I hope not.

I don't think you would get banned. Innocent people overpay for фекал items on the AH all the time. Not to mention people put items up for way more than they are worth to try and screw with peoples auction data and get them to overpay.

Yeah people put up a single silk for the same price and buyout as a person who has a lot of stacks of 20 hoping someone will just keep buying them  while staring at the price marker. Seen this a lot lately.

A gold seller isn't going to buy a garbage item for 200g unless you paid them to do it. That's how the service works. They don't just randomly buy stuff from the AH.

A gold seller could make a mistake and buy it. Since that item was already used in a transaction before, they could think it was overdue or something like that and buy it.

But anyways, thanks for clarification on this subject.
