New player- can't get to realm list

When on login screen, after typing in my username and password, the popup hangs on connecting and after about 15s moves to disconnected and punts me back to the login screen. Any ideas as to why? Housemate plays the game without issue.

Same thing happening here, cannot seem to get past the log in screen. Help would be appreciated!
