I cannot speak in any channel but guild

I have this bizarre experience that is extremely frustrating. I can't speak in any channel, not even /say. It simply does not show, and no one else can see it either. I can type in guild, and it works, others can see it. I have no addons. I literally deleted my wtf folder, wdb folder, even got rid of all the addons. Completely 100% fresh client. Still... I cannot speak in any channel.

This happened to me yesterday, when i logged in today i was muted for 38 days, and then i was banned. I made a second account and /who my char to see if he was online and ultimately i'm pretty sure a gold seller was on my account. https://forum.elysium-project.org/topic/32300-mute-turned-into-ban-gold-seller-hack/

How did you know you were muted? can't talk on /1 /3 or /say but I can /g and /p am I muted? i was not told of my muting.
