Having FPS problems, need help!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Specs -
i7 - 67000HQ
GTX 1060

Im having some very weird performance issues. My FPS keeps going up and down from 40-90 constantly an makes a crazy stutter (75hz monitor). This is not a Vsync issue, or graphics settings issue (can play pretty much every single game out there in great FPS), as no matter what i do, even if i set resolution to the lowest, i still get the same fps values and troubles. Is this because this game is not optimized for newer graphics cards? I also used to play on a godawful laptop and got consistently 120 ingame FPS.

I have also been talking to other people in-game, and alot of people seem to have a similar issue. Does anyone have any information about this? Is there a fix i can download, or some weird hidden settings i can change to fix this?

Thanks for your help!

Edit: All drivers are up to date, i have also tried to re-install 1.12.1, and i have deleted every add-on.

i7-6600K [email protected] GHz

Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming Premium

16 GB RAM

ASUS Maximus VIII Hero

Samsung 840 EVO SSD

ACER PREDATOR X34, 34'' 3440X1440 GSYNC monitor

I am playing at 6880X2880 resolution (3440X1440 upscaled 4X) at 100 FPS.

I get zero lag and no stuttering. I used to get no lag and no stuttering either when I played at 60 FPS withy VSYNC ON.

If you are lagging, the only thing that's to blame is your CPU.

How is that possible though? Considering my old way worse computer ran this game without any issues whatsoever? And the fact that graphics-settings doesnt change my framerate?

Thermal throttling due to CPU overheating.

VSYNC also tends to cause stuttering bc your FPS momentarily drops in the 30's and then climbs back up.

Check to see which is the problem.

The temperature is about 40C on CPU ang GPU, so i dont think overheating is the problem, Vsync doesnt really change anything either im afraid..

You are wrong. If your CPU isn't throttling, then the only reasonable explanation is that your issue is caused by VSYNC. You should disable it and use 3rd party tools to control FPS such as EVGA precision.

Also, note that laptops are not meant for gaming and they are almost always subpar compared to dedicated desktop gaming rigs.

That is true, which is why Single Threaded Performance is king in this game and the more you OC the best your performance is going to be.

Is there any way you can explain what you did to fix this probem? I've been playing with zero issues for a few weeks, and my fps just started fluctuating dramatically last night.

I have a rig with a 6th generation overclockable desktop Intel processor, namely i5-6600k.

I never had a problem in the first place and I still don't have a problem now.

Get a rig with an overclockable Intel 2nd generation processor (SANDY BRIDGE i5-2500k/2600k) or later and overclock it to 4.5 GHz or more if you don't want to have any performance issues.
