Aachie 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Hello Guys, while running around with my character the game is stuttering. It's no FPS issue though since the FPS are at 60 and above constantly. I already tried windowed mode, disabling vertical synch and using compatibility mode. With the stuttering the game is really unplayable. Im getting headaches from playing like this. So, any ideas? Thank you in advance. CPU Intel Core i5-4750 @3.20GHz Edited January 13, 2017 by Aachie

Erjh8765 19 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 Well "stuttering" means that your FPS drops in the 20's or less (or even 1 FPS) and then climbs back up to 60 for some reason. This CPU is adequate for WoW Vanilla. Check to see if the CPU turboes normally. It sounds like your CPU is thermal throttling or not truboing. Check to see if your CPU is overheating and disable power saving features so that your CPU can run at max turbo frequency at all times.
Aachie 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 I've got MSI Afterburner installed. Core 1 runs at ~70%, the others are running on a lower percentage. None of them is getting hotter than 40°. I am constantly watching my FPS via CTRL + R in WoW and it's sitting at 60 or slightly above at all times. If I do not move my character there is no stuttering. But as soon as I start running around the screen is stuttering just as if the FPS is dropping. But it isn't.

Aachie 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 They are all running at ~2.5 GHz average. In fullscreen mode it's a little higher, in windowed mode a little lower.
Erjh8765 19 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 They are not supposed to run at 2.5 GHz In order for the game to play properly, one of the 4 threads should run permanently at 3.60 GHz
Aachie 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) Thanks for your help. These commands fixed it for me: gxRefresh <your monitor's maximum refresh rate> e.g. gxRefresh 60 (for 60hz monitor) M2Faster <CPU physical cores - 1> (Dual-core = 1, Tri-core = 2, Quad-core and above = 3) Here's the link: http://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?t=1100&f=32 Edited January 15, 2017 by Aachie
