Latency skyrockets to around 8000ms constantly game freezes what to do?

Recommended Posts

Especially in high pop areas, instances, and even regular zones my latency will skyrocket to crazy numbers of MS. When this happens my frames don't drop, but everything around me becomes... its hard to say, but for example chat doesn't work, and when I click on a spell it just casts forever. Players around me are still walking, but they just walk into objects and keep walking, some players are just constantly spinning around. I've tried reinstalling a different client, and uninstalling all add ons, and this still occurs. It's strange because my MS on team-speak says everything is fine. I tried to change the preferred DNS stated here https://elysium-project.org/news/20-stress-test-registration?page=12 It still did not fix anything. While the game is "frozen" about 5 to 10 minutes go by, and I get disconnected. If anyone has any info on this please let me know. Thanks.

This same thing happens to me except my ms either stays normal but i still lagg out in the way you described, It makes it borderline unplayable. Needed to relog about 3 times to turn in a quest in SW.

Bumping this thread so Elysiums dudes hopefully sees this and helps us.

Thank you for the suggestion Ellipsea! Unfortunately this doesn't seem to help the issue (did this before logging on this evening and still spent more time at 1000ms+ latency than not). The others may get more joy though? It's a weird one.

ya that could only be short term solution, we should probably start web searching to see if there's any viable solutions aside from moving to France.

HELP US ELYSIUM DUDES

You know for some people, just reducing view distance to medium helped a bit.

I have view distance on lowest but it doesn't help

Scrounge through this thread.  one guy says it specifically has to be on medium.  Whether that's true or not I don't know.  But there's other suggestions in there as well.

My point was that I had always had it on medium before so it didn't help switching back to Medium. I have done everything in these threads, and it shouldn't be my computer since I have a intel i7 6700 skylake. and that guy didn't have the same problem as us.
