Well, yesterday i was playing and the server just get down and comeback with a little rollback, and, for my surprise some itens in my bag just have missing and a lot of ppl in the general chat was saying the things like "WTF i lost all my gold" "My itens just gone".

A lot of ppl is saying they get hacked and i think maybe is just a bug in the server that make your itens gone (i dont saying the hackers dont exist but is something but it's something that administrators can study)

I logged off in an inn and when I logged back in I was standing next to a mailbox. I doubt it's a bug.

My character had used the hearthstone to get to an inn, also when I asked the general chat in STV a guy pointed me out a "gold-seller" meaning that they had spammed their website from my account to others.

Every time you log out an image of your character is stored (what blizzard uses to restore players in the old days) And one of the oldest dupes worked with this save to reproduce items. 

Stuff don't go missing because the server has a hickup, maybe if you pull the powercord to the entire building, and blow up the UPS just prior, you may see a couple items lost here or there. But certainly not becuse of a normal restart or maintenance.

All my players where heartstoned, even the lvl 9 lock with 10g and 4x 16 slot bags But this one they didn't bother to run to brill to vendor and send bags to "theryge" from the guild LOVE GAMES BY US who was selling my other 18ish 16 slot bags on the AH at dumping prices.

Funny thing is, that i remember logging out in brill, which makes me think the process is automated/botted. And happens just after YOU log out yourself, because nobody in the guild could recall i had logged in during the night i was hacked.

 

I honestly believe there is a security breach revolving around the time when everyone is trying to log into the game, i distinctively recall having major issues logging in after a restart, disconnects when logging into players (after getting on game server) but since i got hacked i've had no problems at all.
