my account was banned tell me why plz

Recommended Posts

Many accounts have had actions taken against them. If you believe that this was a mistake; please use the ban appeal section.

I know that this might be an inconvenience to you as well as many others, however, this is the only option as of now.

Thing is, a lot of people got banned today for "no reason". As in, no reason given, no concievable reason as to why you would be banned. Myself and my friend included.

Couldn't agree more.

If we don't know the reason, its hard to make a ban appeal, other than "I got banned, pls unban" :)

Then this would help the staff team discover there was an issue then.. hmmm.

"Hey, there are a lot of ban appeals saying they got banned for no reason."

*checks ban log*

"Wow! undo all the bans without a reason!"

Problem solved.

All bans have reasons but the WoW 1.12.1 client does not support showing them and the autoban system cannot access the mail server to send emails because it is an ingame feature not a database one.

So you put in an appeal and ask why you were banned. I'd advise nicely but do whatever you want.

Have had a ban appeal up since Jan. 9 with no response yet. You might be waiting a while.

No response? I highly doubt it. The current turn around is 48 hours.

No response yet. But, to be fair, it's been like 5h since i created the appeal. Anyway, there's a guy saying that he was banned on 9th jan and he's still waiting for any answer.

I don't think i'm getting my char back, but i'll wait till monday to wipe all wow data from my hdd.

should of not banned us in the first place considering all of us are so clueless why we were banned. This kind of atmosphere is dangerous to the community.

Dangerous that your account was picked up by the systems. Limited chance but perhaps banned by a GM.

Your assumption that simply because you don't know the reason, that means if your account breaks the ToS... it shouldn't be banned. How do they know or a computer, what you do and do not know?

I will agree to the point that not knowing why you were banned is kind of bad, however, if you were breaking the rules then you had it coming. That's all I can say. They clearly state rules in a post and furthermore you agreed to have read them before logging into the game. That was while creating an account and visiting the website.

Then again, there should be some sort of way to know why you are banned. They do have records of your e-mail so they should send you an e-mail. I agree with you there, however, they're not obligated to do so.

Not sure if account emails can even be accessed by the game server, maybe be a link between account name and email is made by the website instead. Don't know.

If it is any consolation, I have given this to one of the Devs (he doesn't handle things like that, not his domain) and if they are not considering it then he is going to pose the suggestion to the devs that handle that stuff. But it may not be possible. Not everything is, often for security reasons and complexity ones.

It can be handled by the client, however, as you have stated.. due to security reasons they may have disabled it.

The .pinfo command(without modification from the original state of the magos core) displays:

  • account name
  • account level
  • email
  • ip
  • mute status
  • ban status/reason
  • location
  • last login
  • online/offline

There are some other things that it may also display. Just a general compilation of the account and character information.

But they don't use the Mangoes core, it is the Nost core :P Likely has the same info but as I said, doesn't mean the game server currently is designed to be able to send emails.

Their system needs a more personal touch considering they are dealing with information that is over a year old. I never once had a problem on Nost

So, i was banned as well and finally got my reason. it being gold buying/trafficking, when i havent done either. My freaking account has a combined amount of 11 gold, with none of it leaving either of my two characters. Anyone else get the same justification?

No.. I believe you misunderstood me.

I said the Game Masters can find the e-mails and report it to Administration for an e-mail to be sent explaining why they were banned or something could be done. I don't believe any private server core has the ability to send e-mails upon being banned. There could be, but I have yet to see it.

In regards to the core. Yes Nost's development team used Mangos as their structure, at least from what I have heard.

Sorry to say but your account is done man

I had the same issue. On Monday I payed someone 50g that had mats to do the warlock epic summon in Dire Maul. I paid 10g to anyone who would stay and help finish. We did finish and I got my mount and I logged off.  Server went down and come Thursday I was banned when I had time to log on again. I appealed and the only answer I got tonight was my behavior exhibited gold trafficking... No further inquiries to appeal will be made... No other reason than that... Good luck man.

If this is such a strong issue they should ban currency trading between players all together...

I just hope the players that I thankfully gave a reward for helping aren't banned either.

Time to go back to Everquest Phinigel server where they allow vanilla progression.

So we can not trade or send golds? Wtf...?

I cannot believe that you read one guys extremely biased story and consider it absolute truth lol. I have traded 100's of gold and it has never been an issue. There is clearly more going on in his case than he is owning up to.

When they got their hands on the list of several thousand people who bought gold about a month ago. That ban wave involved nearly 3,000 accounts. The staff team is 60 odd people. You cannot expect that kind of emailing. While some people are banned by GM's others are banned by the automatic systems on the server and so no GM would be involved anyway.

Logistically impossible to do manually without vastly more people.

The age of the information is redundant. It is all about the vast amount of it, the thousands of tickets, the tens of thousands of players, the hundreds of thousands of accounts. It just isn't that simple. If I asked you to email a thousand people with only 100 having the same reason. You wouldn't be able to do it.

Put in an appeal and you will find out. What is so hard about this to understand? lol
