Banned? why?

This really is terrible... how can so many people be getting banned? for unknown reasons, a ban should require a reason for it....

Now dedicated many hours to a character i cant play or get back, due to unknown reasons.

I can buy that some might be banned because of buying gold  but not this many people of which a lot of them seem fair players...

been away for several weeks since appealing, and i dont believe that 7000 people (the amount appealing bans so far) have been cheating. I've never cheated on wow server, and feel devastated to loose all my time and effort.

Actually, the number of ban appeals are exactly 2079 since the server went online. So yeah, you don't have a fucking clue what you are talking about and you are a moron on top of that.

The "retard of the year" award goes to the poster that claims to be able to tell whether a player is "fair" from the way they post on an internet forum.

With an IQ like that, it's not a wonder that you are getting hacked and then permabanned. 99% sure your password was 1234 and you pasted your account name all over the internet.

The major difference here is that Law Enforcement bound by Due Process, this entire ban wave is done via automated gold tracking with little regard to outside influences.

This major outside influence of course, is china's new policy on VPNs.  (as evidenced in by the noticeable drop in black lotus and devilsaur camping these past few days). And what it looks like is a massive, and rushed cash out on dirty gold before it can be laundered properly and lost around in trade.

it is worth noting, that while there have been automated ban waves in the past, this one in particular has had a massive increase in appeals, as opposed to previous waves.

Because from what it looks like, its raiding/progression guilds that are getting hit hard here from selling large, single items (purple BoE's, excess Raid mats, flasks etc..). and they are not just the driving force of the economy, but the server as a whole.

Unless you're on that meme server, where they just glitch MC lol.

I don't think it's even just banning people for selling a large amount of items, I got banned and I'm level 19 and I have less than 3 gold, the only thing I've sold on the auction house were a couple wands I made from leveling up enchanting for like 10 silver.

Yeah my guild pretty much has pushed the breaks on progressing until this is fixed so they know if they should quit playing or not. Our main tank is currently banned as well. I hope his gets figured out today...

Why would ban appeals exist if you can't get unbanned? That just seems like a waste of time. The livelihood of the server rests on fixing this mass ban. It's really weird playing right now because there are so many core players who are removed from the game in a lot of guilds. If they don't fix this issue, it may be RIP Elysium. Maybe the new WotLK server will get some attention after this poorly managed ordeal.

Ouch. luckily for you, this patch seems to have messed with a lot of the raid bosses, causing them to 'reset' mid fight, most notably Nef's and Ony's phase 1 & 3.   Warlock's cant even summon other players anymore.   But hey, at least critters react to combat properly!

One thing to look at here is that this sub-fourm specifically asks to post ban appeals elsewhere, so to ask "why" here could fall under lockout.

Yet despite that, we're pushing at 6 pages with nearly 2k views. which means we're either being unmonitored, or this is an ongoing issue. Really the big problem here is the lack of communication, or even acknowledgement of these issues causing panic among players.

Yeah I was in teamspeak pretty much all day yesterday while waiting for help from a gm and my guild tried to 30 man ony and she bugged out really hard, and everyone had to run there. None of the locks could summon.

Been messaging GM's on their Discord and they either claim they don't know anything about it or they just say "Could have been gold selling"

Still no answer since 24 hours. But from moderator from Russian section know that I was banned as a part "chain of goldbuyers". Looks like one man bought gold and bought on it ore from me, so I got ban cause I have illegal gold.

yea i spoke to a GM a bit ago and he said the same exact thing lol.... They said they have Gms on the ban appeals as we speak though so idk whats actually happening
