Frigidum 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2017 Just got a new phone and forgot to disable 2FA on my account. I also don't have the original setup email with the QR code anymore. I'm essentially locked out of my account control panel because of this. What steps can be taken to reactivate 2FA through Duo Mobile? I can't find any relevant information on this. Thank You.
Frigidum 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2017 Quick Update... Was able to gain access to my web account from my home desktop since my IP hasn't changed, but even then I cannot remove the 2FA lock on my account without first having a 6 digit pin, this pin is only generated when Duo Mobile is activated, so I'm in a stalemate situation here. I cannot activate nor deactivate the authenticator from my account. Please Help! I'll need a new QR code or activation pin sent to my email. There are no options available in the account control panel to handle this type of scenario.
Frigidum 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 Bump.. Would really appreciate some kind of reply on this. There is no automated recovery system currently in place for this type of scenario. Without admin intervention, I will be locked out of my Web account once my ISP decides to issue a new address.
Frigidum 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2017 Update... Amazingly I was able to recover the deleted/trashed "2FA QR Code" email I received from the automated system. With the QR code I was able to re-activate 2FA with my Elysium account on Duo Mobile. Lessons Learned... 1) DO NOT DELETE YOUR 2FA SETUP EMAIL! 2) DO NOT ERASE YOUR OLD PHONE WITHOUT DISABLING 2FA FIRST! 3) IF YOUR PHONE IS BROKEN/STOLEN/LOST, PRAY YOU STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL 2FA SETUP EMAIL. 4) IF YOU LOSE YOUR PHONE AND THE 2FA SETUP EMAIL, YOU'RE S.O.L. UNTIL ELYSIUM STAFF IMPLEMENT A RECOVERY SYSTEM.
