Disconnecting instantly issue |good info for admins]

Recommended Posts

Hello Elysium.

I'm having a issue whereas the moment i start up the game and i fill in my username and password and press enter, i disconnect the moment i press that enter.
I have tried several things trying to solve this issue, messing around with compatibility mode, changing my realmlist to the IP adress, searching for the same problems on the forums and resetting my password.

I'm running a 64 bit Windows 10 system, i'm not sure if there is a setting to be changed here, considering this version of the game is so old.
The admins also seem to ask for the config file contents, so here are mine:
SET hwDetect "0"
SET gxColorBits "24"
SET gxDepthBits "24"
SET gxResolution "1024x768"
SET gxRefresh "60"
SET gxMultisampleQuality "0.000000"
SET gxFixLag "0"
SET fullAlpha "1"
SET lodDist "100.000000"
SET SmallCull "0.040000"
SET DistCull "500.000000"
SET trilinear "1"
SET frillDensity "24"
SET farclip "500.000000"
SET specular "1"
SET pixelShaders "1"
SET particleDensity "1.000000"
SET unitDrawDist "300.000000"
SET movie "0"
SET readTOS "1"
SET readEULA "1"

- On other forum topics i have seen other people mention something about this list that i had to change, i'm not sure what. I'm hoping you could help a 12 year long wow player (yes i also play legion) enjoy the good old days back again! Help is appreciated.

Make sure you are operating as administrator.  Right click wow.exe and set to administrator.  Make sure you are launching from wow.exe and not any launcher if you have one.  If the wow folder is in program files, move it out of there.

Does your realmlist.wtf say: set realmlist logon.elysium-project.org  ?  if not, use notepad to write that in there.  If it already did, you can try using the IP address instead: set realmlist 164.132.233.125

Read Pottu's post about Directx.

Also, that last line you posted Set accountName "X"  delete that line from the thread here.  Don't want everyone seeing that.

"In my WTF>Config.wtf my default realm was set to "QA Test Realm 1.6", I just needed to change this to an active realm in my case "Anathema" and it was able to connect."

In my Config.wtf there is nothing that says anything about what server i should connect to, should i add that in? and if so what do i write exactly to get it right? :P

No, you don't have to write in the servername if you have no servername info.  Throw away the WTF folder altogether.  A new one will be generated when you sign on.
