"Fighting the good fight"... failure

Recommended Posts

Do you ever wonder why only %1 of accounts using 2FA, because it is buggy as hell.

When i heard 2FA announcement i was quite happy about it but it turned out as failure.

(scroll down for tl;dr)

Tons of people on this forum complaining about it how their code gets rejected, and yes... i sync'ed it already. I added my account to authenticator perfectly fine, I can use it in website! No problem there. But not in client. I used authenticator before but it took minimum 4 to 5 try to actually able to login. I am saying minimum because sometimes it takes so long i go in website and disable authenticator so that i can login.

In before you say "remove and add again". No it doesn't work. I tried that too. I tried to auto-manual date for my phone it doesn't work. Since it only doesn't work in client, i thought ui might be the problem and deleted wtf, but no it doesn't work.

Please advertise it as "Fighting the good fight, but we make no promises! it might not work", that would be more informative.

Anyone saying "Try 5 mins later" ... just proves it is server problem and it should be adressed in high priority because it is security related issue.

I like how this 2FA keeps out hackers from logging into your account, it would be better if it let user login his account when he wants...

Other than this authenticator issue i would say Elysium doing good job with servers i thank you for that. There are more bugs than a year ago but i would say its all cool, considering amount of people in realms and in fact this is just volunteer work. You guys giving your free time for this.  It is not something i would/could do. You guys thought about best and brought this 2FA and i believe it is perfect solution for security. But it won't help much if people can't use it.

TL;DR: PLease Fix authenticator omg zomg plox plox, i like it i can't use it

Also for Trolls, i found this in one of the posts, i liked it, please accept those humble words:
Trolls, parasites, cancerous, acne infested, basement dwelling social rejects need not reply to this thread. Your opinions are unwanted just like the fetus you once where, the kids you are today, and the adults you may become, providing you never talk to people like that in the real world.

Hate to break it to you, but 9/10 times when there is trouble with 2FA it's because of the you, the user. 9/10 times they don't know how to properly setup an authenticator well, or have it's timesync wrong etc. Or some e-mail issue. I created a new account to test and setup 2FA within a minute. Google authenticator, android softare. Oh, and gmail.

The only problem I have with 2FA is that very often first attempt to log in fails (bad pin/pwd) and I need to wait till code refreshes because logging in with current code again fails as well.

I am almost certain I enter correct pwd/pin, but it hard to be 100% sure in this case.
