Farming meat

So obviously pets will eat a lot and it doesn't make financial sense to purchase it, when it can be farmed, so what are some good mobs to farm for meat to give to lv60 pets (wolves especially) ?

I normally just ask my mates to save roast quails and trade them to me at the end of a run.  With pet loyalty 6 my pet doesnt get hungry quickly anyway...
