mike1097 2 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Hello Guys, I've bought a new monitor and I like to play WoW on it as well. As the title says, the monitor has a 3440x1440 resolution. Furthermore I'm using a 1920x1080 (16:9) monitor as well as a second device. When I log into WoW I only can choose a resolution up to 1920x1080 sadly. I even tried to modify the resoultion myself (in the config.wtf) to 3440x1440 but it does not work. The game launches in 800x600 all the time. Somehow the Game does not recognize my new monitor... Has somebody a solution for that maybe? I guess I'm not the only one who's using this type of monitor
mike1097 2 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 Still havent found a solution. What I got is that the game scales across the whole monitor right now but its still 16:9. I also tried to run retail wow because some people said I could use the settings from over there but that does not work as well
mike1097 2 Report post Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) Somehow my resolution can only be changed if my old monitor (16:9 1920x1080) is active. If I turn it off only 800x600 up to 1600x1200 scaling appears on my menu... is it because I'm using a Display Port Cable? Erjh8765 19 Report post Posted February 12, 2017 I own an ACER PREDATOR X34 34inch 3440X1440 monitor. I play Vanilla on it just fine at 3440X1440. Not only that but I have even been able to UPSCALE it to 6880X2880 via NVIDIA DSR (4X upscale)/ YOU are doing it wrong and it's definitely NOT the fault of the game. See screenshot below. Apart from 3440X1440 (WIDE) there's also 2560X1440 (WIDE). Of course, I did NOT modify any files and I did NOT hack anything whatsoever to play at this resolution.

Darane 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) I got new LG 3440x1440 (LG 34UC88-B) screen and wow 1.12 works fine in native resolution. I had to select compatiblity mode for win7 and run as administrator to have the wide resolutions available. I play on Dell 7559 laptop with Windows 10 x64, build 1607, max patched. Darane 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2017 So you have 2 screens and apparently wow uses the other one. Try to reverse the screen order in screen settings.

Thank you! Running in compatibility mode worked perfectly fine!
